Re: big overpairs

i would pop this up to $7 pf.

the flop bet is fine. when you get raised it'd really really help to have some reads/stats on villian.

Re: big overpairs

The problem with flops like this is that people often limp/call with pairs that are overpairs here and go crazy with them. They can also do this with sets, overcard flush draws, all sorts of fun stuff. I don't think you can do much else here.

Re: big overpairs

you need to 3-bet or fold the flop (precisely because of what happened on the turn).

Re: big overpairs

If you think you are way ahead on the flop (and I think you did since you donk all-in on the turn, correct me if I am wrong), you should reraise the flop and get it all in. The board is draw heavy, and a good player might raise this with a draw for a free card/pick off a c-bet. If he has AA/KK/Set you are busted anyway, and at least this way he has to pay for his draw if he has one.

Your Thoughts?

Re: big overpairs

yeah, after looking into a couple more hands i think i need to 3bet way more in these situations.

in this hand is doesn't really matters because any re-raise commits me to the pot, but i found some where i could have find a fold of my lonely overpair in case villian pushs.

i looked up villian. he was 24/15/3 @ ~240 hands.

Re: big overpairs

very little you beat calls the turn bet....but lots of stuff that has you crushed does. Your line is terrifying to 88-JJ and if he's got a set he knows you don't have a 3.

I'd probably come over the top on the flop while people with 88-JJ still like their hands (and flush draws too). As played I think you are smoked. Check/calling or check/raising all in if he didn't push the turn would probably get hands that you beat to bet at least.
