Confused in short handed game!

Hand in a short handed case game last night:

4 players, 25p/50p

I'm on the button

MP folds
Button raise to £3
SB fold
BB Raise to £12

I have JJ.

Player is solid but does like to bluff, i have a fairly tight image.

What do i do here? Call fold if i dont hit my set?

If i hit it i push,

Or do i just fold PF

I actually folded and BB did not show.

Similar hand happende later in the night with 88 althou that time i was up against a much tighter player.

Any Advice?

I think it depends on your stack sizes, but normally I fold against solid player.
If he raises less (7,5 to 9) and we are at least 100bb deep I think about calling for setvalue and/or a good draw.

I did take a huge pot earlier on so felt i ddnt need to get involved. My thinking was that i'm either way behind or on a coin flip. I felt i could get my money in with a better chance later on.

thanks for the tip

This should never ever dictate you action, if it does you are playing out of you BR.

It depends on your stack sizes. If you're both deep stacked (more than 100BBs) I'd think about calling for set value, as you do have position on him postflop. Plus since it's 4 handed, if he's a solid player he probably figures you'd be raising almost any 2 cards as a button steal and 3bet you light.

If he's a total nit and only raises with say 10% of his hands, and has an even smaller 3bet range I'd fold. You only flop a set about 1/8 times and you're not getting good enough pot odds to call with a potentially dominated hand.

I totally agree with you! and i would not play this level on line as my bank roll is insufficient for 50c/$1 online. However this is a very weak game and regularly come out with at least 100% profit from my buy in so i feel i have an edge that allows me to play in this game once a week. But your right it should not affect my dicision.

Can you finally tell us the stack sizes? They can swing the suggestions from one way to the other.

PLZ POST STACKSIZES!!!

It depends mainly on stacksizes how to proceed, so no advice without that information.
