25 nl, AQ, where am I?

I had a decent hand here, but this guy kept calling me before and by the river pots were big, and I didn't want to shove with top pair second kicker...

Thats a big re-raise pre flop. But I would bet the turn 8$ and fold to a raise. But if he calls the turn what do you do on the river? What if he just calls the turn and shoves the river? Is just calling his raise pre flop a mistake?

Just a few of my own questions hope you dont mind.

IMO

Size of the re-raise is fine.
I'd normally bet around 4 on the flop
Check the turn - he will check behind 85% of the time here. (If he leads strong I shut down. We are usually beating nothing that leads the turn strong + we don't want a huge pot with this mediocre hand.)
Make a 1/2 pot valubet on the river (or check behind/fold to bet if an obv draw gets there).
Obv fold to a river raise.

Any stats or read would be really helpful here, but assuming you have no read I would bet ~$8 on the turn to bet out any potential flush or straight draws (clearly the turn didn't complete any draws).

***GRUNCH***

Bet more on the flop. From 4.5$ to PSB.
As played bet 8$ on the turn, no reason to think you are beat now. If he shoves, I would fold if you both have full stacks.

Don't you think the Board has too many draws to give a free card? If you both check there are many cards I don't want to see.

Just wondering if my thinking makes sense

Edit my typing sux

Re: 25 nl, AQ, where am I?

There are a lot of draws, but I'm having trouble determining what hands preflop he could call that would be utilizing those draws. QJdd is the best draw he could have, but would he really call being reraised preflop? I mean I guess it is possible, but I have a hard time believing that the Villian's range is much large than QQ-AA,AK,AQ.

Then again 25NL has some ridiculous players, so I guess the draw is possible.

I checked through. Mistake number one?

River is a Jack of Spades, perhaps literally the worst card that could have cropped.

Now what?

The J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] is a bad card here, but certainly not the worst card. I'd hate to see J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] here more. I'd even get a bad feeling from Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I think a 1/2 pot bet is in order on this river.
