Hiding results from yourself

ive been trying to go through days without even knowing how much im up or down, as i believe this will vastly help my game overall...my problem is i find it virtually impossible to hide $$ amounts or stats from myself while i play. when i buy in it displays my account amount and when i check PT to post hands i cant help but see my ROI/#s right there. does anyone have any suggestions as to how to hide #s from yourself? as i know some players dont like looking until the end of the day/week....

its practically impossible because when you buyin to a tourny it lists your account balance.

Always squinting while firing up a new one. Wouldn't mind some other option though.

i go with the squint when buying in during a session and i only look at the end. no way i have the will power to wait until the end of the week/month though

Is it possible to just show lifetime results, so that your recent results have a small, unknown impact on your lifetime ROI?

Yes it is. Set PT to all time instead of since whenever.

I've tried hiding my account balance from myself but i found that i just ended up being pessimistic and thinking i was down heaps all the time, so not to dissapoint myself. This then lead to me playing worse than i would like due to feeling like i was down and needed to win some back. I think i need to work on my optimism while playing.

I believe your energy would be beter spent just getting used to always having your results in your face. They will be. You will always know when you are running pretty good, and always know when you are running BAD.

If your results hurt your thinking or your game then I suggest focusing on the root of the problem, not numbing the pain. You will thank yourself for it in the long run.

keep lobby in same place and put a very small sheet of paper on your monitor?

save questionable hands to text file as you play?

I would work on developing the mental resolve to not let this affect you, whether you see the results or not. Mental strength is a big part of poker and if things like your results are affecting how you feel, then it is likely that getting bluffed out, sucked out on, etc.... are having similair effects... and that's bad.
