Royal Flush

Hey people,

Ive played poker online for roughly 6 years, i play reg in tourneys at my local casino's and play will friends for peanuts at weeksnds sometimes.

Ive NEVER hit a royal flush, so gutting, ive watched my mates hit 1 or 2 on their laptops when ive been over, but never had the pleasure of the best hand in poker myself!

How long did it take people to hit a royal? did you get paid?

In my first months of online poker I hit a Royal flush about every month, even flopped one once.
Last year, I haven't seen one.

Re: Royal Flush

actually if you never make big hands (like royal flushes) you just cannot win at pokers, doesn't matter if you play situations better than anyone else... best you can hope for is breakeven

JammyDodga 10-19-2007 08:15 AM

Re: Royal Flush

No, the real problem is when you flop a royal flush and then someone hits a better one on the turn. This happens way more often that is statistically possible. I have proof.

Sharagoz 10-19-2007 08:20 AM

Re: Royal Flush

I've had 2 in 150k hands, both within the same month.
The first one I backdoored, the 2nd one I flopped.
30bb pot on the first one, 5bb on the 2nd.

Re: Royal Flush

Ive had 4 so far. First one was on the board like in the picture above. 2nd one i turned it and made $1.50. The other 2 we were all in preflop so i got paid with them. There nice and all but if u have a royal flush what hands are gonna pay u off. not many. quads FTW!

Re: Royal Flush

I got a royal flush drawing 3 from AdJd in 5 card draw. I've also been dealt a pat T-high straight flush.

I once got a straight flush in 2-7 triple draw - oops. I also have gotten two straight flushes in 7 card stud.

I've gotten three royals in Hold 'Em - one I flopped and didn't get paid off on, another I got with pocket tens, AIPF in a tournament, and another I turned with QhJh and got paid off on the river when the guy made aces full.

Re: Royal Flush

I've only got one looong time ago when I just started with T-junk. Obviously, it didn't get paid off and I proudly bagged 5BBs. Along with quad aces this is my least favorite hand because those hands will pretty much never pay off.

had 7 in just over 1 year of online play 1 floped

Re: Royal Flush

I've made one ever, in just under 900 Sng's (not sure how many hands). I made it on the turn and got paid off- guy had trip kings and was betting willingly.

GeraldGiraffe 10-19-2007 11:47 AM

Re: Royal Flush

I had Quad Queens paid off by an open ended straight flush/royal flush draw that the other guy hit on the turn the other night.

When I first started I had 3 royals in about 2 weeks - all in tournaments, all got paid off. Since then I've flopped a straight flush in a cash game once, and I actually had one last night, but neither got paid for more than a few BBS.

Re: Royal Flush

a couple years ago on party. I saw a royal flush 2 hands in a row on the same table... it was amazing

for me, i've got 2 royal flushes within a half hours of each other, and that was probably 2 yrs ago.

then not another one since, they maybe a month ago I got another one.

Re: Royal Flush

I started playing just under 2 years ago, played probably just under 100k hands and I've had 4 or so. they are kind of a novelty but not memorable because they only paid out big for me twice.

Re: Royal Flush

No, but I've lost to a royal flush with 4 of a kind.

I had 2s 2c and the board ended up with 2h 2d 10d Qd Jd and of course the other guy HAD to have Ad Kd. I guess that's what I get for slow playing 4 of a kind?

Armadillo King 10-19-2007 03:16 PM

Re: Royal Flush

Nope. Best I've ever done is a King-high straight flush.
