$4 Pstars 180 Person Final Donkament Table - What Would You Do?

This is the first 180 player MTT I have played. I usually donk it up in FR NL games but had my worst session ever so I decided to blow off some steam with a tourney.

I make the money and get to the final table, but I'm starting to get short stacked. Do I make a stand here or fold and let a few more people bust out. I've seen UTG push two high cards at this point, and there is a lot of stealing, so I figure I've probably got a coinflip against overs if I call.

UTG (t60434)
MP (t113138)
Hero (t23264)
SB (t25764)
BB (t47400)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

The payout for the tourney goes:
1st: $216
2nd: $144
3rd: $85
4th: $57
5th: $47

I'm curious to hear what you guys think!

Fold it here. UTG raise is just ew. You can pick a better spot IMO

Also, post this in Small Stakes MTT - they answer this much quicker and better thought processes IMO.

I'd call and feel bad about it; then again, I'm a spineless nit...

I don't think I have time to wait for a better hand (2K BB 1K SB and 1K ante/5hands is a LOT).

This type of villain will do the same with pairs smaller than 88 or even A5s type of hands when he feels he can bully the table (or at least the short stacks).

Vs overcards pocket 8's is 55% to win, so it'll pay off in the long run I guess.

Still, shoving them instead of calling is a lot different, and there's 2 people to act behind you

I'd have to fold here, you are at best a coinflip against any competent player making that raise and you're probably drawing thin to two outs.

With a hand like 88 you'd rather be the first to raise all in. 99+, AQ+ is an easy call readless. I'd rather fold here and push fairly wide on the next hand if the blinds will be tight.

All in from UTG feels like AK to me. I'd call. You are starting to get shortstacked and I think its time to double up or go home. If you play it safe you are basically in a battle between shorties over 4th and 5th place. A double here would put you in good shape for top 3.

I wish I could narrow opponents ranges down like that.

This is a small pair or AK very often.

88 is right on the border of calling here.
