ya that was a misclick while loading up a new table. My standard there would be 4bb.

I think 4bb is too much - 3bb is a pot sized raise and means villain has to call 2bb into a 4bb pot.

4bb costs you money in the long run all the times you get raised and have to fold - or miss the flop and villain seems to wake up witha a hand postflop.

4bb is not bad - you can make a case that as we will be OOP for the rest of the hand making the odds as bad as possible early is goot.

IME tho 3bb does the job nicely.

Re: NL 50- Good spot for 2nd barrel?

Ignoring the math, i always raise the BB 3*BBs if i'm in the SB althought i raise 4*BBs when opening in any other position.
I know you want to take the pot down PF, but raising 3BBs means a lot of the time he calls with a very weak hand then gives up on the flop and you win his PF call.

I never second barrel cause i'm a sissy and never know when to do it so i can't really comment on the turn play.
