How big of a gambling/sports betting problem does Barry G really have?

So I realize Barry is as off limits as anyone around here when it comes to threads that may potentially be looked at as slandering his name.
I am not trying to do that.

In the cardplayer video, barry starts to talk about betting sports. He quickly reminds us, and himself it sounded like, that he doesn't bet sports anymore because he has to bet at least 6 figures to get any rush.
The way he talked about it, it certainly sounded like he may have gone pretty deep before quitting.

Also,

Last Sunday Barry played DN in the heads up 10k showdown on stars. Apparently Daniel had told stars that Barry would be playing. Barry didn't register until pretty close towards the start of the tournament, and Daniel was talking about how stars was asking him where he was. Daniel then joked to Barry that he was going to tell stars that Barry wasn't playing because he wouldn't stake him.

Barry then responded, and I don't remember the exact quote but this is pretty close for sure, "I wish that were further from the truth."

Now I thought that comment was very odd coming from someone like Barry, but decided against making a thread because it could've been an inside joke or something. But then yesterday I saw the cardplayer interview, and my curiosity got the best of me.

I know that Barry has donated more money to charity then I'll probably ever see in my lifetime, and I applaud him for that. I also have no doubt that if he was ever to go completely broke, he would have plenty of friends bending over backwards to help him get back on his feet.
So let's not take this as me calling him busto or a degenerate scumbag.

But it appears Barry has a bit of T.J. in him, I just don't know to what degree. I used to have a blackjack issue, and listening to the way Barry talked about sports betting gave me the feeling that he took a pretty big hit before giving it up.

Thread worthy?
Ban Butcho?

Stay away from the sportsbooks, Barry!

If you have $100, is betting $1 "going pretty deep"?

It's all relative. Barry has the money to make those big bets without feeling the losses.

I have a feeling Barry has a little extra dough to spend on sports and whatnot.

Instead of that whole silly OP you should have just said "Barry G Busto?" Would've been received far better.

Any amount of money that get your juices going when you bet it has to be a noticeable amount of your net worth. Lets face it would 100k get his juices goin if he was a billionaire? Probably not.

Yes, this is completely inconsistent with Barry's well-known self-deprecating humor.

Ugh.

He hasn't been betting lately because he hasn't got the money to risk.

I don't think he has a problem at all. The guy can definitely afford to lose big sums so he's able to make big bets. As he said in the video he doesn't bet what he doesn't have.

Your talking about a group of elite degen gamblers...these guys have $10k prop bets on how many ice cubes a delivered drink will have. He is on a totally different planet when it comes to betting and I think he prob got cooled on some big bets and thought to stay with poker...just a thought.
