AK hand

PT is messed up so here's my version

full table at wpex
I got AKo in HJ
villian is button

pf action: folds to me I raise, he reraises, we cap

flop 10 8 8 two hearts, I got the A hearts

I check, he bets, I call

Turn 5 rag

I check, he bets, I call

River A

I bet, he raises, I'm thinking I just donked into tens full or AA but I don't know.... what's my line, or should I have played it totally different. like folding turn

it's probably a little over 10:1 call river raise
little help I think I suck

Re: AK hand

well call the river as you see another AK a lot here. as for the rest of the hand, I think the turn should likely be a check/fold without a read, but a checking and calling is close as you would like to realize your equity the times you are against another AK plus you have 6 clean outs against jj/qq.

I think you played well preflop.

After capping preflop, I would have done a flop continuation bet.

As played, I think the river bet is good. I think you need to call his raise.

Re: AK hand

any reads on opponent? I would be the flop since you are the PF aggressor.

I'm definitely calling the river. In general, the players at WPEX are way to LAGgy to fold.

opps, missed that you capped preflop and not him. yeah, bet the flop. the hand will play out completely differently.

pf: I was initial raiser, he raised, I 3-bet, he capped

and no I didn't really have any reads but I didn't ever notice him getting out of line at any point

I was probably going to call down regardless of the A river, but I probably go to showdown to much

I don't think that's possible.

I also like betting the flop. It's hard to tell what he has since your first raise could look like a steal. If he raises the flop, I call and check/fold the turn if it doesn't help. I see a lot of people raise paired flops with Ak,aq, but after you cap preflop, I think a raise suggests at least a pair.

As for the ace river, you just beat a lot of what he could've been holding, so I like the bet. Getting raised there sucks, but it's probably best to call even though one of the hands you hope to see only gets you half the pot.

If your betting sequence is correct, you made it 2, he made it 3, and if it was capped, you made it 4 unless wpex has a 5 bet cap.

If I cap, I lead the flop almost always.
