You can bounce the ball off the wall while playing. Or if you're like me, you can throw it at the wall as hard as you can after every bad beat.

also leader, nh. what's the deal with all the tags capping tptk on the turn nowadays? Seems super spewy to me, but then again I always seem to have a busted draw when they do it . Maybe I have a nasty timing tell?

I'll jump in as my PC decided to asplode itself and now I'm only on mac's.

There is a free program (well, it doesn't have an expiration trial date, anyway) called VMWare that allows you to run as many operating systems as you want. Using this, I have XP Pro running in the background almost always. Very quick/easy to switch back and forth.

Anything that works on your PC will work on your new version of XP, ldo.

As for running stuff in native mac OS X environment, you can run Full Tilt and any other mac friendly sites, but you will not have access to your PT db/HUD. If you are a HUD bot, this sucks. If you're not, then it doesn't matter.

Last point for poker related stuff is videos from sites like CR. They use a security feature that can only run on PCs. Like the sites, they will work fine in XP thru VMWare as long as you have the current version of Windows Media Player.

That's about it for the poker life on a mac. Other than that, macs are great in so many ways... I haven't got to try Leopard, but I heard it's just a juiced up version of Tiger.

If you're a computer whiz (i'm not) you'll like macs even more, 'cause it's a linux based system and you can do everything from a terminal prompt, while also living in the GUI friendly world of OS X.

Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for November!

I purchased a macbook last spring hoping to use be able to use my poker software by installing Windows XP. I found it just a bit too buggy for my liking. I remember having some issues with UB software and also think I had some problems somewhere in the PT/acehud as well. I originally installed using bootcamp before I was informed that you could install it with a software(parallels) that would allow you to use it as a window in OSX. I had some issues with the wireless networking, although it possibly may have just been an issue with my campus' wireless not liking the configuration of the adapter running from windows through osX.

Although, I'm probably a nit and the little things that were pissing me off could probably be dealt with by most. Also there probably has been an improvement in the software used to emulate windows since then.

I have since bought a sic Lenovo thinkpad z61p with 1920x1200WUXGA and can't get enough of it.

I also get a discount on Lenovo and had never relaly looked at thim or heard of them. I may check them out.

Posting this in the LC NC thread hoping random lurkers dont read it.

So based on my post from the other day I tried figuring out a new experimental range.

http://imageshack.dk/imagesfree/dra56732.jpg

If there is any discrepancies from position to position pls let me know.

The button and SB ranges are pretty much useless. The button range is so variable and a lot of the SB hands I will open complete depending on the opponent.

Feel free to berate or just discuss!

I used to have about the same but recently I've been tightening up (mine now looks like 44, A2s, A6o, K8s, KTo, Q9s, QTo, J8s, JTo/J9o, T9s, T9o, 98s, 87s and maybe 76s).

I had to tighten up because I felt like I didn't play too well. I watched some videos by Stox and he seemed to be much more conservative in situations like this so I figured I'd try it too. I believe I had widened my range too much because I figured my edge was bigger than it actually was.

But if you play well and have a considerable postflop edge over the people in the blinds I definitly advice opening more liberal than what I'm doing right now... i still think yours is a little too loose though. Perhaps something like: 33, A2s, A4o, K6s, K9o, Q8s, QTo, J7s, J9o, T8s, T9o, 98s, 87s, 76s, 65s.

I also think you have to consider the rake and blind structure. A 3-5 structure promotes looser play than a 1-2 or 2-5 structure. Furthermore in the lower limits the rake is huge so you need to tighten up accordingly.
My above recommendations is based on no rake and a 1-2 structure.

EDIT: I'm talking about CO.

Re: Official SSSH LC/NC Thread for November!

jeeezuz. been musing over upgrading my pc into a hi-end gaming rig (i already got 28inch lcd with 1080p) or buying an xbox360. i like that i can sit on a sofa or bed while playing the 360 with friends, plus all 360s' games look kinda cool. but i also like the pc an its strategy games, plus they have the biggest gaming selection... so far ive spend 3 days thnking about it and cant make up my mind.

I am guessing you are talking about a specific position?

Care to elaborate on which one? CO?

Those are all much looser than my standards, but it's partly because of the limits I play. I think my range is similar, but just move every hand up about 2 spots. I also don't like suited Q's as much as you do.

Novembers off to a good start....

This hand is meaningful to me because 2 of the other 3 players berated me for "terrible play".. One guy says "keep playing those cards fish", and the other nit in the pot says "yeah you play terrible"

This is so [censored] standard it hurts. (And by standard, I mean that though I wasn't button in this hand, I was button in this hand all day yesterday. Ask Efficacy/Tryptamean...)

Edit: El Oh El at BB overcall...

If I'm SB in this hand I'm done on the flop.
