Dumb Club Situation

Situation:

last night strassa and i are out at some club. strassa leaves with some chick who proceeds to throw up all over his bed. our party filters out and i am left alone with an undrank bottle at closing. i dont give a [censored] about sneaking this thing out so i just leave it there.

strassa's mind is completely blown by the fact that i would leave a 95% full bottle behind. is he crazy or am i?

Re: Dumb Club Situation

Why would you order a new bottle so close to closing time knowing that you can't drink it? Or was it just you started the night with x bottles and this was just left over.

we had enough people and time to drink it when i ordered it but our party got thinned out due to various circumstances.

Something tells me it wasn't beer. Pretty sure Strassa's not disagreeing with The Ocho about $1.43 of alcohol.

Ocho--

Meh, I'm with you on this one. Unless there's some sort of resale value I'm not seeing, the whole bottle-preservation-and-sneaking process seems like more trouble than it's worth. Seems to be a pretty clear sunk-cost situation.

I thought that you once you bought the bottle, you owned the bottle, and you don't have to "smuggle" it out, just cap it and take it out. Maybe that's just at restaurants with wine bottles, though.

does the cost/quality of the bottle matter? it was a $350 or so bottle of goose fwiw.

im pretty sure i would have had to smuggle it out. if i believed it was a restaurant wine bottle type of situation i would have gladly taken it with me.

If it's some exotic bottle of booze, I can see a case being made for taking it out...if it's just vodka at a club that happens to be insanely overpriced, I agree that it's not worth the hassle to smuggle it out.

Yeah, but that's the thing of it. I don't know what the downside is to getting caught, but what you're going to all the effort for is only worth $25 or $30 outside the club.

A $350 bottle of goose is only $350 because of the bottle service. You can buy the same bottle at a liquor store for $40. So if he is that upset go get him one. I think you did the right thing. I've been in the same situation and you don't sneak out bottles from clubs. It is embarrassing.

guids 11-25-2007 06:58 PM

Re: Dumb Club Situation

no, I dont. Unless Im going somewhere w/ no booze and its to late to buy more, and I still want to drink.

Your only losing about 20$, not 300 and something.

Re: Dumb Club Situation

It also depends which club, who you know there, how often you go and how much you spent.

El Diablo 11-25-2007 08:31 PM

Re: Dumb Club Situation

Ocho,

As others have pointed out already, it's just a f'ing $25 bottle of vodka. Of course you don't bother lugging around a $25 bottle of vodka (unless as quids points out you need/want it for wherever you're going next).

it was a hiphop club and i had already pretty much exhausted my white chick and latina options.

also, if you ever see a guy alone with a bottle, he is almost certainly un-baller.

who cares about being embarrassed in front of strangers? It's a 25-40 dollar bottle! That's like an hour of work or w/e depending on your situation. I go through a lot worse than embarrassment in an hour of work.

Of course, if you feel there will be long term social repercussions or that your chances of getting caught are high, then your considerations are different.

Is the vodka high proof enough to burn? If it is, you should have poured it into a glass, and burned it all. Burning alcohol looks cool.

Don't take it out obviously

XXXNoahXXX 11-25-2007 10:59 PM

Re: Dumb Club Situation

Snowball,

This is one of those situations where if you can afford the $350 bottle in the first place, then its probably not a big deal for the parties involved.

I, on the other hand, spent college sneaking bottles of beer into the bar in my pants and girls purses. You'd catch awkward glances when you were drinking bottled beers that the bar didn't have in bottles, but was never a problem.

if you're spending $350 a bottle on table service at the club, $25-40 is not an hour of work
