Button raiser, SB w/ATs

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (6 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero (t1975)
BB (t3390)
UTG (t1505)
MP (t1040)
CO (t3790)
Button (t1800)

Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to t450</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t1975</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Button calls t1350 (All-In).

Just a bad move right. I keep trying to justify it, and I KNOW it just had to be a bad move. He could have lesser hands and be raising from the button I am a favorite over but I don't even think that justifies it. I'm just retarded.

Most people don't raise a fourth of their stack with the intention of folding. Although ATs is surely ahead of his raising range on the button it probably isn't profitable given that he calling quite a bit in this situation.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say you're INCREDIBLY results-orientated right now and angry that you lost the hand. I think it's a very 'iffy' hand. You can justify both raising over a button steal where your ATs is way ahead of his range, or you can look at as a person betting 1/4th of their stack trying to get action. I choose to go for the first one because usually that's what it is more times than not. I really don't think this is a horrible play, definitely not the best play, but again not OMG HE DID THAT?! type of play.

I think we generally have more FE than we think vs a button raiser. I imagine it's very close but it would hardly be bad either way. I lean towards shoving.

You didn't forget anything, not necessary.
