Any bet basically commits you, so bet/call

Does anyone see any merit here to a risky check here? Hope to induce a bluff from busted ah hands and to disguise your hand meaning you can extract alot of value from alot of semi-decent hands you beat on the river? Obviously you have to be prepared to throw the hand away on alot of rivers, but does the extra value gained (assuming he hasn't turned the flush) make up for this?

Checking sucks.

free shots to hands that have lots of outs to beat you are no fun.

That's true, but you're also going to get alot of value out of hands you beat with it, you haven't got a great deal invested in the pot right now, either, so folding a river that hits isn't going to hurt and it wont be a difficult decision. I'm not saying I would check, but is there any merit to it at all?

Also, as an aside, we could be the ones needing to draw to the free card, not them...I find it hard to believe they'd lay down a turned flush to a rivered boat the way the hand was played, too.

Bet 20, fold to a raise.

If called, on the river I am checking through any heart.

If we call and a non heart hits the river, what is the plan? I want to bet but do no feel great about it.

On the turn, the pot is 23 dollars. Lets say a standard bet here would be 20. So after we bet, we have 75 left.

If he decides to go all-in, the pot would be 131, and there would be 68 left to call. Are you seriously going to fold a set now? His range is definitely wide enough to justify a call.

free cards don't matter as much when the pot is small.
