Wynn daily tournaments
 

Heading out to the Wynn today. I see that they have a $300 tournament on Thursdays and $500 tournament on Fridays. Anyone ever play? # of entrants? prize pool? structure?

www.wynnpoker.com and if they get more than 2 tables, it's a good turnout. They post their results daily.

I played in a $500 that had 3 or 4 tables, maybe 5, but it was last summer.

The Wynn tourneys have suffered greatly from the V and Caesars tourneys... as well as ppl going 300+ buyin perferring to play the Bellagio tourney, and them seemingly refusing to change their stance buy-in or structure-wise.

If you're going to play noon tourneys play the $150 at V.

I played a handful of the Wynn tourneys in its earlier days, back when they regularly got 5 or 6 tables. But yes, exactly as 52s says, they are a shell of their former glory. Caesars and Venetian came along with better structures for less or the same buyin and Wynn didn't kept up. According to that fine bastion of information, allvegaspoker, Wynn has improved the structure from the past by offering 5K starting chips instead of 3K for the $330 buyin, so it isn't quite so far behind Venetian now, but still their $330 tourney has what looks to me to be less play than V's $150 tourney.

Compare Wynn's turnouts Nov 07 to Nov 06.

06: 51, 45, 29, 38, 29, 23, 43, 32, 41, 33, 32, 52, 52, 31, 51.
07: 17, 24, 14, 18, 16, 17, 22, 24, 23, 26, 21, 15

Nothing WRONG with their tourney, mind you, and if you're looking for a small field to run against it's probably a-ok. It was a bit rough playing with 3000 starting chips, but with 5000 I think it'd be ok, and it should run faster than V's if you're looking for something that'll go a couple hours less.

By far the best value (good structure)tournament in Las Vegas is the Venetian Friday and Saturday Noon event which will set you back $550.

Beyond that if you analyse the structures of the rest of the Vegas Tournaments (Good ones)you will find the rest of them almost identical and the Venetian Noon event has the best value. The following events will give you the same amount of play

Caesars $291+$39 Noon Friday-Sunday
Wynn $291+$39 Noon Tuesday-Thursday
Wynn $475+$55 Noon Friday
Bellagio $970+$90 2pm Friday and Saturday
Venetian $120+$30 Noon Sunday to Friday
Treasure Island $100+$25 7pm Saturday and 11am Wednesday

Caesars $165 +$35 Noon Monday-Thursday structure is a little faster than the above listing.

Anyone notice the obvious structure problems here. Why does the Wynn keep the structure the same but jack up the buy-in on Fridays?

What about the Bellagio. The Friday and Saturday offering is $1060 but the Venetian as I mentioned above has a much better event for $550! The 2pm offering at the Bellagio which is offered Monday-Thursday and Sunday and will cost you $500+$40 offers a structure only slightly better than the daily offerings at the Sahara and the Orleans. I welcome input from the Vegas Regulars on the information I have presented here. It appears to me that the Bellagio has no interest in offering good value events, but because they are the Bellagio players will come anyway. Why doesn't everyone just play at the Venetian and see if the others will offer better value events?

Even better, only $110 or so if you win a satellite. They run single table satellites with a decent structure (takes ~2 hours to finish with good players) in the morning before the MTT.

What is the sat structure for the $110? (Starting chip count blind levels and minutes per level. 2 hours on a single table is very good.

The V only does the $550 on Saturday now.
