ZOMG! Does Greg understand what constitutes a good starting PLO8 hand, and that you should raise more than you call? That is some atrocious play. I guess sometimes a pro sitting down does indeed bring out the donks, sometimes even the pro's inner donk?

So last night I get in a decent pot, 3 way, FTP 100 PLO8 and my modem takes a big crap on fourth street with 20 BB in the pot and I'm last to act... modem dies while the first guy is thinking about his action. I have (A2c)58 and board is 67hh unpaired with two clubs and no SF draw out there. So I sit there and the damn thing won't reconnect. First time in a year of playing online (I guess that is the silver lining??). I am assuming my 6BB is gone when this happens. Choosing to interpret that as a case where the ultramegasoooperdraw was destined not to hit me on fifth street, but dayum those hands hurt. I almost broke the pinball table during the ensuing therapy session. Dang dang dang! Next time I just poosh the flop to the limit instead of building the pot?? What say you?

he always play loose pre-flop, and was probably on tilt by this point.

Joe Hachem is the guy to watch out for, extremely aggro and slightly dangerous if he makes his way to the PLO8 tables.

last night was fun.

+50 BB's.

does this hand demonstrate good game selection?

two limpers, i limp AATT DS, raise, call, we all call.

5 players, raised pot.

Flop

A-K-3

flop is capped four ways.

I think so.

100 PLO8
Villain has been potting preflop with crap like A5Jx rainbow, but rarely showing her raises. At the end of my session, swung down 65BBs but now up about 10BBB when I am in position on her with AA35s. I limp, expecting the pot raise with crap, it comes but she has AA8J rainbow, so I raise 2/3 the max, she reraises I pooosh, flop comes with two lows, turn flushes me and river completes the low, it was preordained to be my last hand, makes me about 25 more BBs, turning it into a good night. Wish the guy who was there who also was busting her crap raises was still there to see it, but I still type in "Finally got you" before the apparent hit and run when I get up. LMFAO.

Brag: I had given up online poker for the past few weeks, as I prepared to move to Vegas and concentrate on live poker. But I got an email from FT about a bonus offer for $300, so I put $300 online last Wednesday and started 4 tabling(would be more, but I'm currently at my parent's house with only one monitor) $.25/$.50 PLO8 and NLO8, and decided that I'd need 8 buy ins to move up to the next limit. One week later I sit at $3700 in my account and am playing $1/2 and $2/4.

my opinions based on online play, hearsay, and televised broadcasts:

Greg Raymer's strongest games are tournaments (obviously) and limit cash games such as HORSE. Personally, I'm dubious of his big-bet expertise.

Joe Hachem's strongest games are NLHE and tournaments, he plays PLO8 like a NLHE player would and probably misses many nuances of O8 in general.

Do they care about winning or losing when they play online? Raymer talks about bad beats and outdraws while he is playing, so he seems to be playing intently. They both also seem to tilt when they lose online, which I think is some indication of caring.

I haven't seen evidence they don't care at all. I have seen pros on fulltilt playing monkey games with each other for far more cash than this.

Re: ***August Low-Content Thread***

Generally if you catch someone playing out of his limits its a dream oportunity. Playing someone who got into a game far over his usuall stakes is good, but playing someone who just has some fun at "play money" stakes is absolutly great.
And patience is crucial in PLO8.

How often does this happen to you guys? My last three sessions are like identical triplets. I sit down and within two 3-tabling orbits I'm down one to one and a half buyins based on one donk hand and several sucker or quartering hands. I then continue to dwindle for anywhere from one to two more hours, ending down between one plus and almost three buyins, then in the last half hour I've just cured the monkeytilt, get dealt all the good cards that were missing for three hours, and end up getting anywhere from 2/3 to more than all of it back. Bottom line I'm down half a buyin for the three days... If I showed a graph of the bankroll for each session it would literally look like three fraternal stock indexes tracking oh so close to each other. With such high variance this seems beyond improbable. Just curious if this sounds at all familiar.

Serious question ...

I took a look at my PT stats yesterday for the first time since PT started working with Omaha on Bodog. In 21,600 hands I'm up 9.95 BB/100. Is that considered good? Average? Fair? Sample size OK? Too small?

doesn't sound like a large enough sample size to be accurate... wasn't the consensus that 100,000 or 200,000 hands may approach a realistic rate?

what was your avg winrate on other sites generally?
