I don't really like it. I could see him thinking that you have to be pretty strong preflop Re: stack sizes and not expecting you to turn a hand like 99 into a bluff, so he has to assume you're strong.

But he can often be pretty strong checking this flop, and you took a line that most random goodish players never fold anything to.

FWIW I think bet/bet/bet is a pretty good bluff line to take here unless you think he will c/c three streets with AK or AA here.
