Bankruptcy Laws in Tennessee

In California I believe when you are getting evicted from your home they initially have to wait 3 months to evict you but if you file bankruptcy proceedings within that 3 months they have to give you extra time. (this might be totally wrong...)

Is there a way to find out how this works in Tennessee as well?

I have a family member who is going to get evicted either way as he can no longer pay his mortgage but wants to stretch out his (rent free ) stay in his home as long as possible. Any suggestions?

Note: This has nothing to do with running really bad at poker!!

Thanks a lot,

Tennessee eviction: Sherrif serves eviction notice, 30 days later Landlord throws said lazy goof for nothing tenant out on their collective asses. Sherrif smiles, Landlord smiles, your relative fades into obscurity and becomes a fulltime poker player in Vegas, story ends, lights fade, run credits.....
