What's your calling range vs a half-stacked villain who is 11/4 after a few hundred hands?

QQ+,AK. Everything else goes into the muck. If villain was slightly looser i would call with JJ as well

Assuming you have no immediate history of the guy shoving or doing anything else wacky...

The guy is an 11/4. First time around, I'd tighten to AA/KK, because you'll see AA/KK like 75% of the time, QQ/AK the other 20%, and random garbage 5% of the time. Your range has to be tighter than his to make a profit, and the majority of plays like this from mice or rocks is a monster. Also, the half-stack an 11/4 has is designed to make a call look more enticing.

Loosen the villain's PFR up and you can expand your range to {QQ+, AK} or looser. Also, if the guy keeps doing it over and over a few times, loosen up again to something like {TT+, AJs+, AQo+} or looser. Often times you'll just see him do it once and never again, which says he was just screwing around with a monster {KK+} and trying to get a donkey to call him with {22+, ATs+, AJo+, KQo, KQs}

That range sounds about right, even though I'd probably fold AK too, at least the first time he did it. My guess is that he's pushing QQ+, AK (maybe JJ), but until I have a bit more confidence in that range, I'm likely laying down AK. If he's never doing this with AQ, I don't think folding AK is a mistake here.

We need (40+49.5)-3 : 40, 2.16:1, or about 46% equity to call.

AK is a great hand to shove all in, but terrible for calling if we don't think a 11/4 villain will do this with AQ (I don't think he would).
