5-10 NL Hand At The Borgata

5-10 NL Hand At The Borgata

[$600] Hero (UTG) calls $10.
Two callers mid-position.
[$550] Small blind calls.
[$1400] Big blind calls.

Small blind and big blind are anonymous players who just sat down from a broken 5-10 NL game.

Hero is dealt [8c 3s]
Flop: [8d 3d 2c]

Small blind checks.
Big blind bets $50.
Hero raises to $175.
Small blind goes all in for about $550.
Big blind goes all in for about $1400.
Hero tanks for 5 minutes and calls.

Turn: [Blank d]
River: [Blank]

Result:
Hero wins pot with two pair [8 3].
Small blind and big blind show [8 2].

Was this a correct call by the hero? Did he have sufficient pot odds to call the hand after small blind and big blind's all in raises?

You limped UTG with 83o? Fold preflop, if you are in the SB don't even call the BB with that hand. After the flop however you never fold this hand. But please don't ever play this hand unless you check it in the BB.

What exactly are looking for with that hand? Precisely 2 pair? or maybe trips?

well since they were in the blind you gotta put them on junk hands like 82 or 23. your 83 is gold.

Relax guys, I was not the hero, I only put hero because I was not in the hand, hero is actually my friend who plays very well. I was on the button and not in the hand, I wanted everybody's feedback as I most likely would've folded after two all in raises putting one of them on a set.

As for the hand itself, I made a mistake. He had 8h3h if I recall correctly. Doesn't mean it's +EV to limp in, but at least he got paid off.

you gotta limp 83s, how else can you see a flop and outplay people?

limping with 83 UTG = -EV

i played this hand. i was looking to play it like i had aces since the game was really weak. fortunately i flopped top 2. Ive beaten the game many times its usually a week game but can be tough depending on the time of day.

the limp is fine in this game and the postflop call is a no-brainer snapcall. only sitting with 600 is pretty criminal, though.
