i posted on here a few weeks ago asking for some feedback about a thesis topic. i was pretty much looking for a topic pertaining to poker in some way shape or form - however, nothing i tried flew with the professor.i was understanding to his skepticism concerning a thesis paper that involved gambling - after all that probably wouldnt look so hot to a first employer. now, here comes the [censored] part - ive been stagnating mentally and have only been able to produce topics that were trumped by my prof as soon as they left my mouth. at this point i am so burnt out from school and could use any sort of advice or anything mentally stimulating to help me concoct a decent thesis topic. i like to think that most folk who contributes in the 2p2 community are smarter than the average bear and will have something enlightening, however minute, to contribute in my quest to finish my career in academia.

How about writing about the stigma that society puts on people who choose nontraditional careers. Poker, stay at home dads, male nurses, etc.

Write a thesis concerning the public, market at large, and high ranking employees at investment banks completely misunderstanding things like correlation, sample size, and variance. Explore possible effects that that may have on the market.

EDIT: See if it jives with historical market trends.

what about the impact of poker on the countries that own the sites and their economies?

what about the americans not saving enough money and how it fuels china's economy because they save ~40% of income and the u.s. saves ~10% annually..
