I dont think ive ever seen this line not be a monster. Whenever I call, I say to myself "gee he might have A7" then they show like K2 or something and I hate myself

These wierd lines are read-dependent, but even if villain is unknown, you're almost never any good here.

Having said that, I did play a very similar hand 2 nights ago when the villain c/raised T9s on the river after flopping a pair of tens but missing his f-draw.

I'm not sure if the pot is offering you enough to call, although I'm sure knowing what hand he played this way would be worth something.

Ya, against an unknown in my games I'd be tempted to c/r the river with A9, A8 and stuff here.

Yeah, I can't see folding here. Could easily be top pair + busted flush draw or just a weak ace.

You do realize that this is literally the second strongest hand in your range on the river right (besides maybe A2/A3)?

Even still you can probabily fold given the tiny pot.. just dont make a habit of it.
Id probabily fold A4-A8/air, call A9/AJ/AQ... cause the possibility hes value betting a worse ace is a very real (yet unlikely) one.

Of course it can, if he puts you on a 10 and he has a rag ace, pot odds and all that!

Having said that if the guy is a passive muppett then he probably has the nuts, these doomers always check the nuts on the turn thinking they are being clever. Call anyway unless you hava a good read.

Your hand looks like exactly what it is. He cannot expect you to fold. So, its probably a good fold. I still hesitate to lay this down v an unknown.
