You don't see the game 9 handed often. Calvinhobbes did win the BB jackpot for $162,000 the other day. Coincidence?

Watched him play for a while and he was cleaning up the 150/300 game on AP. Solid player actually.

He definitely wasn't solid. He was a brutally bad player. I don't even play limit and if I had the coin in my AP acct. I would've sat.

He isnt that bad.

But if he was good enough to win that big, he'd have done it without the assistance of a windfall gain like the BBJ.



This isnt a case of a successful 2/4 player making the jump to 10/20. This is a probably break-even 5/10 and 10/20 player jumping into big games, playing against people who are almost all pros.

He'll lose whatever he sits with... it just might take a while because he isnt THAT much worse than the competition.

All of the 500 hands i have against him are from 10/20, but i distinctly remember him playing smaller stakes even though his name doesnt show up in any of my older databases.

also, this guy who won the BBJ is the prototypical "i know how to play preflop but don't understand limit holdem well enough to play postflop because ive been playing against low limit donks all my life"

also he hasnt been cleaning up. hes down at least 30K in the last 24 hours, maybe more

baron, have u been sitting in this game? if so, mind divulging your SN? i sat for a bit, but was way underrolled, dropped 8kish~ and realized i was playing poorly and would need a lot more on the site to play comfortably.

on a side note, this session is getting outrageous, i think hes been playing for a good 40+ hours. at LEAST 24 ( i sat with him before i went to bed, and when i woke up this morning) and the rail was talkin about how hed been playin for like 20 hours before then (not sure how credible that is tho).

his play was pretty mediocre, obviously substantially below average for that limit. fairly predictable, mostly b/c as baron already noted, he plays a pretty universally fixed style and uses his preflop protocol from mid limit games to this one.
