(3/6nl) AWKWARDDDDD

Full Tilt Poker, $3/$6 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

SB: $669.15
BB: $120
UTG: $789
MP: $609
CO: $585
Hero (BTN): $1,486.65

Pre-Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN)
3 folds, Hero raises to $21, SB raises to $74, BB folds, Hero calls $53

Flop: ($154) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $84, Hero times down and calls $84

Turn: ($322) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks ($511 behind), Hero ???

Villain is a good 2+2er with 28/21 stats. I don't have much history with him as I don't play 3/6 much. I think he 3bet me once pf and I folded OOP. My image might be a little aggro but prolly doesn't make a big diff.

Flop I sometimes fold, sometimes call. The small bet confused me. Not sure how he interprets my flop call and/or my timing down, but I think when he checks the turn, his range is either super strong (QQ,AA,KK,AQ,87s) or super weak (99,AK,AJ, maybe AT & some SCs) but specifically not KQ,QJ,JJ,TT. I dunno, I guess I could be way off here but that's what I felt during the hand. So.. do I check or bet-call?

check, you may have the best hand, and you picked up a decent draw that cant stand a c/r

Its actually a sort of an interesting spot, but its still a check in my books.

Why do you think hes not checking 88-JJ on the turn? (jw)

but anyways, super easy check

check sometimes, shove sometimes. in villain's eyes, you're not shoving 99-JJ here and the board has 2 baby cards which could have hit you hard. he has reaaaaaal trouble calling you with 99-JJ here and possibly KQ and AQ. The only way to win this hand against a wide villain's range (99+ KQ+) is to shove here and if he makes a hero call with 99-JJ and KQ and even AQ, as KK-AA can fall under range, you still have outs to fall back on. In short though, if you shove, only hands that snap call are KK-AA and QQ but you fold out a lot of marignal hands that beat you on showdown.
