Weekdays in AC - Worth taking a trip down? Which Days?

I haven't made it down to AC for a poker day since my son was born about a year and a half ago. I'm realizing that I'll have an unaccounted-for vacation day left before the end of the year and was thinking of taking a trip down.

I've really only been there on the weekends so I'm wondering if it would even be worth it to go on a weekday. Are the games pretty short and full of old retired rocks during the weekdays? Any suggestions for rooms and/or days that would be better than others if I did make the trip? (FYI, I'm primarily a 1/2 player.)

Thanks in advance.

I have still had a good experience on week days. The tournaments are still soft and I don't think you can go wrong anywhere with the 1/2 game, but I would stick to Caesars or Borgata

I play mostly 10/20 limit so not sure about the no limit games. My experience is that the games are still beatable on the weekdays, but not as good as on the weekends.

Fridays are usually better than other weekdays so you might want to try then.

I used to travel to AC on weekdays when I lived back east about 2 yrs ago. The early morning 8-12 games where great. Alot of degenerates and wannabe "young guns". This was at the Taj. Also liked the game at the trop but this was when that room was fairy new and usually only had 1 nl table in the mornings.

I would recommend the Borgata on a Wednesday. On Wednesday, the Borgata runs a $25K guaranteed tournament. The tournament itself is pretty decent if you're into low-stakes tournies. The buy-in is $60 for 5,000 chips, and if you last through the first hour, you can get an add-on of another 5,000 chips for $50. Overall, it's a very good structure, with blinds starting at 25-50 and lasting 20 minutes. Check out www.theborgata.com for more details.

Whether or not this tournament interests you, its presence at the Borgata makes it a good choice for you to make a mid-week poker trip to AC. The tournament usually draws several hundred players. Those who bust out move over to one of the 85 tables that the Borgata has for cash games. So, even though it's mid-week, you'll find a great selection of games filled with fish who came for the low-stakes tourny, but who got pulled out of that pond early.

Thinking of either:
A. Driving down Sunday night and playing Sun night / Mon morning
B. Driving down Thursday night and playing Thurs night / Fri morning

Which do you think would be the better time to be there?

Definately thurs/fri. There is a 280 tourney Friday mornigns which bring in a lot of people early on who sit down very relaxed and aren't playing well.

Plus, Thursday is the new Friday.
