Simple 2-7 TD question...

This is from a tourney a friend of mine played in.

One limp, sb completes, and you check with 446TT.

SB draws 3. How many do you draw?

Interesting. Everyone I have talked to likes drawing 3 here but I always draw 4.

I feel like drawing 3 gives you a better chance of hitting a pat hand or a 1-card draw, but that doesn't translate to much of an equity boost since those outcomes are still rare.

But on the other hand drawing 4 makes you a lot more likely to hit a playable 3 card hand (24 + 3,5,6,7,8).

Basically it seems to me that you should maximize your chances of catching a 2, because of you don't get one you will make very few playable hands with a 46.

Am I just wrong?

I was going to say 4 against someone good, 3 against someone bad but I haven't seen too many good players limp and draw 3 here. So I'm automatically not giving them much credit for being so good. Their limp makes me assume they are pretty passive so we shouldn't have super tough spots later on, which means I'd rather take the risk of picking up a rough draw.

*edit*
If instead your hand is 36 I would draw 2 no matter what because if you get an 8 you do not have a straight draw while with 46/56 you do.
