99 On the Button

My question: Is my PFR too aggressive here. No reads on the Villian. I didn't want to call two cold so I grew some balls and Raised. Figured To close down the blinds which worked, but with 99 thats not such a great idea as PP's like it mutli way? Anyway when it was checked to me on the Flop I just c-bet till the river??

Grunching:

If CO limps then I would isolate villian with a raise. Here I fold preflop. CO should has at least over cards to be raising.

On the flop bet is okay maybe he missed and will fold.

I would check behind to on the turn to see the river for free.. you really want a set.

Nh.

As a general rule of thumb, you should never be the first coldcaller on the Button after an openraise--if your hand is good enough to see a flop with, reraise. Otherwise, fold.

grunch

I like the 3 bet preflop to squeeze out the blinds. I would cb on this flop hoping he had a weak A here or a smaller pocket pair that he folds. Once he calls teh flop that's the last bet I would put into this pot.

Interesting replies, thanks. I admit I crapped myself when i saw the flop but was willing to continue as it was HU

I think this was well played. Your 3-bet PF scared CO into submission. You leading out on every street increses your chances of winning the pot immediately.

I generally don't 3bet 99 against an unknown. If I have a read that would indicate I'm ahead of his raising range, then I do.

As played, check behind the turn. The board is icky for you.
