JT98ds vs set on flop

Ok, in this hand I 3bet from the SB with JT98ds and am 4bet by the opener. Do I call and get it in on a favourable flop or just shove for value (?) over top of him preflop? Also, on an A hi flop, I can safely put him on top set. On a great flop like this, can I just get it in? I see that I'm about a 55/45 dog, so I guess it's not that bad a play, but I'm just wondering if I can get a line check here. Sorry this is so disjointed, I just want to know how to play this hand and others like it better.

Dont shove preflop. If you shove preflop then you lose your stack on the bad flops. Standard flop.

This may be a silly question, but what was the purpose of your re-raise out of position? For value? To take control of the hand and steal on the flop no matter what comes? To test if he has AAXX?

I prefer to keep the pot small oop unless I can get most of my chips in preflop with a great hand (there are other factors of course, but I am very careful OOP). Therefore, I would prefer to just call preflop here. NO ONE is going to fold to a pot-sized re-raise at the 0.10 level. Save your stack for a good flop. Anyone else agree here?

If the other raiser can't get away from AAXX and is aggressive, check raise him with a good flop.

If the other raiser can't get away from AAXX and is passive, bet into him with a good flop.

It really depends on the other raiser's tendencies.

With this flop, you should call with your wrap draw.

My thought on 3-betting from blinds are that if you do it at all do it with this hand. (I would probably want at least 150 bb stack in order to do it correctly.) If opponent raises with hands other than aces, such as KKxx or QQxx, they will call hero's reraise. Hero can c-bet any ace/low card boards as well as get paid off by check raising when he hits his hand.

standard
actually just shove the flop in case he did this without AA. You might get KK or something to fold.

I checked the flop with the intention of considering to fold. I really didn't plan this hand out very well. Once he shoved I realized just how much equity I probably had and was pretty sure I had to call. And as for 3-betting, in my estimation I was doing it for value. I recall hearing that JT98ds is almost exactly 50/50 vs bad aces, and I did not expect him to fold anything he raised with. I was doing it in the hopes of building a big pot. Whether that's the proper motivation or not, I dunno, but I was pretty sure that my preflop line was good. I will reserve judgement on that for now though, lol.

I just checked my preflop equity against his actual exact hand (AA42 rainbow) and I am a 51/49 fav. I'm sure you all knew that but it's just really remarkable to me so I had to share, lol.

i donīt like the 3-bet oop. way to tricky for plo10. 4-bet tells you he has AAxx. as played, shove the flop. nice overlay as long as he doesnīt have a flush draw - you have 42 % equity vs AAxx.

Re: JT98ds vs set on flop

Standard preflop and on the flop. I would shove into the raisor just in case he has KK or something and may fold.. This is the flop you're looking for (barring the A of course) so there's no reason for you to get away from it.
No reason to push preflop for value..
