Why does the hand comments cause the car dealer to lower the price of the vans? Remedies are mentioned.... what is the scam?

I always viewed this as Frank trying to make the salesman as uncomfortable as possible.......and therefore selling him the van as quickly as possible. Its been awhile since I've seen it.....didn't he also like crush his hand to get him to agree to a price?

He's smashing his hand while they are shaking and he's just talking about hands to draw the attention to it. Sort of a "yes I'm well aware that I'm crushing your hand, and I'm going to keep doing it until you make a good offer."
