JTo in a multiway pot (4 handed)

OK, this may end up looking like a playalong, but it really isn't. Don't think it's that interesting, just wasn't sure what to do a lot of the time.
.5/1 5max
UTG is unknown.
BTN is very loose and also quite passive.
SB seems quite laggy.

Hero is in BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG posts.

Preflop: UTG checks, BTN calls, SB raises, Hero?

Is this close between call and fold or an easy decision? Should the relatively high rake at these games be something that one should consider when deciding whether to defend with a really speculative hand?

I would personally fold. Maybe if suited. but your also out of position and have 2 people behind you.

i would call,JT for 1 sb u get around 8-1(best case scenario if UTG call but still button is sure to call),if u hit ure hand u can get paid big,if u dont hit u just fold.
i would of fold in SB or any other position

Re: JTo in a multiway pot (4 handed)

getting 5:1 with a possible 8:1 I don't think I can let this go but I am not happy with our position and JTo is one of my least favorite hands.

With this kind of call in the BB you have to think before the flop comes out of what you want to see. Personally I am happy with 2 pair or better or an OESD. If we flop TP we have to play poker but I am not going to get to attached to it. Anything else seems like junk to me with this hand.

But you are getting enough to call and hope the flop smacks you in the face.

At least the BTN will call the raise, so 6.5:1 to call.
Someone can Stove it, but it gotta have more than 15% equity.
The hand is not ubergreat, but it got some nice possibilities. I'd take JTo here over J5o any day Plus, you got position on the preflop aggressor, which is a plus. Hero calls.

Getting 5:1 (and really at least 6:1) with two broadways against a laggy guy with whom I have position, and a loose/passive guy who will give me money when I have the best hand, I call.

As nomadtla said [ QUOTE ]
But you are getting enough to call and hope the flop smacks you in the face.

[/ QUOTE ] With SB and BTN being so loose I figured I had good implied odds for my hand, and SB could be raising fairly light, despite his position.

Then this happened...
UTG raises, everyone calls. Getting 11:1, I have to call, but now I'm unhappy. No idea what the check/reraise means from this guy.

Flop (12SB): 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets, BTN calls, SB calls, Hero?

Checking the first time round seems easy enough. Getting 15:1, I think I should at least call. What's the plan for the rest of the hand though?

I easily call 1 here closing the action. I think I am getting out of this hand if it's ever 2 to me or overcard comes. I could be persuaded to raise if a T comes. Asside from thos scenarios I think we cal it down.

Re: JTo in a multiway pot (4 handed)

Call flop, reevalutate turn. I don't really want to bloat the pot even more right now with bad position especially against UTG, so I don't like a raise. And our hand and the odds are too good and the pot is too big to fold. That leaves calling.

I usually call the first time preflop, and you definitely have to call the second time.

On the flop, check-call is fine. Don't give much action unless you turn/river trips or two pair.
