Why are we so scared to become rejected?

Let's say you, in average get laid once every 2 months with random girls. If you want to work on that number, the solution is obv. to start talking to more girls, since we get laid once for every X girl we are in contact me (X is not a fixed # obv). Still we don't, even though sex is a strong desire. How to overcome this fear that we have created in our minds? Success stories plx

We are scared of being rejected because being rejected dosent feel normal. Basic psychology tells us that we try to avoid situations that make us feel uncomfortable and are atypical. If you could overcome this phobia of being rejected (which most people have) then the sitaution wouldnt feel abnormal to you. This would then equate to you approaching more women (since you now think nothing of the situation as a whole) and you would get laid much more often.

So how do you overcome this strictly mental hurdle? Repetition...repetition...repetition. You cant hit a home run if you dont step up to the plate. Repeat the process of approaching women and asking for their numbers or a date until you think nothing of it. Realize that during this process that you will inevitably have more than your fair share of rejections. This once again is just a function of stepping up to the plate - Never aspire to hit a home run if you cant stand the thought of a strikeout. Rejection might feel awkward the first five times, but it sure wont feel nearly as awkward the 50th time. Never crave a rose if you're afraid of grabbing a thorn, man.

we are afraid of rejection because it hurts our pride. Since I think so highly of myself I believe the girls should be hitting on me. Ill just talk to them as normal people and if acceptable i will let her sleep with me.

the key is to just look at it as a freeroll. once you realize that being rejected is no big deal and often kind of funny, you're invincible out there. actually being able to convince yourself of this isn't always so easy, though.
