Neil Stevens, bravely defied the poison. He used every bit of occult power under his command, and summoned the shade of VoraciousReader to assist the ailing party.

She glowed with a blue light and surveyed the assembled mercenaries. A peace not of this world radiated from her. She frowned ever so slightly at some, and beamed lovingly at others, old friends and battle companions.
