Craziest Poker Hand I\'ve Seen in a While: Only 18 BB
 

Playing live 25/50 at the Borgata, I post in the CO and get 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 4 way limped pot.
Flop: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Old southern guy leads into the field for $100. Folded to me and I make it $350. He looks at me and goes "hey, what you raising with there young grashopper? You have the trips there? Set of 8s?"

There's a pause and I go "you're a master hand reader sir. I must have top set."

He goes "well I think you have the set of 8s but I have a straight and a flush draw and I know I shouldn't be doing this but I'm gonna gamble and call."

I can't believe so much is being made about such a small pot. He's literally staring me down like this is a super tough hand for him

The turn comes the J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. He checks I check.

The river comes the 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
He checks again. I figure there's no way he has a flush: he has to have trips and was trying to talk me off a turn bet so after thinking about it for a few seconds I fire $480, small so that he'll call.

He goes "your acting job was good but not good enough young grasshopper" and he folds 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] face up. Everybody looks at him like he's crazy then they look at me, so I show. He pats me on the back and goes "nice bluff" and there's an awkward silence as everybody looks at him. Finally somebody asks him why he folded and he said "I put him on quads."

i swear to god. he's also the guy that bet 1/5 pot w/Adx into 4 people in this hand

notice the grasshopper reference there also

as far as i know, yeah. but i kind of doubt it given that he called me grasshopper within a minute of me sitting down.
