[$2.25] 66 on Button early and E1 folds to me....

Table for the most part has been tight. This is the 1st hand I am thinking of playing. My brain tells me to fold, but my finger keeps trying to raise on the mouse.

What would you do?

so your in the big blind with a middle pair. i'd raise it. you could even push all-in.

I think a raise is okay here. If you make it like t125 the pot won't be too big on the flop and you can safely (without investing too much) make a c-bet. Your opponents will likely fold PF or on the Flop if not I am shutting down wihtout a set.

Folding is not bad either, but on the button and with nearly 30BB you can play this hand with positive expectation.

Just don't commit if you hit an overpair (won't happen often with 66-99, but this is one of the biggest leak many beginners have). Play cautiously post flop (which doesn't mean passive).!

Sometimes I raise, sometimes I limp and bet a lot of flops, sometimes I fold.
Depends a lot on what I think of sb&bb.

No real reads yet, still early, just realize that it is a fairly tight game.

OK, so here is what happened.

MP1: t1525

BB: t2280

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is Button with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
5 folds, Hero raises to t150, SB folds, BB raises to t500, Hero folds.

(This is OK, right?) Once again, no real reads on villain; fairly tight game thus far.

Uncalled bets: t350 returned to BB.

Results:
Final pot: t325

If in doubt in the early levels, fold.

I would play it the same way as you did, although there's something to be said for typing in "Respect my raises, you donkeys" and pushing over. LOL when he turns over AT and you double up and type in "I told you faggitz, I rool". This will bring you immense kudos. IOW, I wouldn't sweat too much over this kind of hand.

I think this is right, there is no real decisive anwser in this spot. You can do any of the three options and make it a good play, very read dependent.
