So Just Bought A DS....HELP plz

1. I need to get a good media player/homebrew thingy. What's on offer I know of the "r4gs" (I thinks that's what it was) but are there others why is that better ect.
Please don't go into any detail about illegally copying games as my thread will be deleted.

2. What games should I get;
I got Advanced Brain Training which is pretty fun imo, but am looking for something more challenging.

- I have Zelda for Wii and am not looking to get that,
- I enjoyed the pokemoon games.

I noticed the following;
- Metroid Prime
- Mario Kart

I think these are pretty safe options yes?

3. Anything else you guys must have for this.

Cheers Guys.

Oh and FWIW i'm in Australia theres no hardcore compatablility problems I should be aware of.

From the perspective of a hour and a half a day commuter:

1. Elite Beat Agents
2. New Super Mario Bros
3a. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
3b. Hotel Dusk: Room 215

3c. 42 all-time classic card games in one
4. Picross
5. Phoenix Wright
6. Warioware touched
7. Cooking mama
8. Advance Wars DS
9. Castlevania Dawn of Sorrows

DS Games I have that I recommend:

- Mario Kart
- New Super Mario Bros
- Super Mario 64 DS (if you've never played Super Mario 64 for Nintendo64 or on the Wii Virtual console, it's a good buy; but it's the essentially the same game with some minor tweaks like the ability to play with Wario and Yoshi, added mini-games, 30 extra stars to collect, and some other easter eggs. My advice is if you already own it or were satisfied playing it to completion in the past and you're not hungering to play it over, I wouldn't buy it ...unless you're a huge fan of the game and getting a slightly different game experience/added bonus features would be valuable to you)
- Castlevania Portrait of Ruin
- Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
- Yoshi's Island
- Metroid Prime Hunters
- Phoenix Wright (don't have the two sequels but I'm sure they're good too)

I would recommend these DS games:

* Yoshi's Island
* New Super Mario
* Mario & Luigi partners in time
* Super Princess Peach - a bit like the Mario games, except the roles are reversed and you have to rescue Mario
* Harvest Moon
* Pokemon Diamond or Pearl
* Phoenix Wright
* Elite Beat Agents is also quite fun if you want a quick music fix

Thanks for the help guys, anyone have any thoughts on the R4GS or other alternatives to make it a media player?

I haven't played a lot of these games in a while so Mario Bros and Kart will check out for sure. Some of the others sound cool as well.

I use the M4Lite and haven't had any problems with it.

Just to echo some of the other replies, Mario Kart and Elite Beat Agents are must-haves.

I have a ton of games, but the only ones I play virtually every day are Brain Age 2 and New York Times Crosswords.

i have the g6 lite. i've heard this is the best cart as far as compatibility and errors go. i've never had a problem with it and it's slightly higher price than the other devices are worth it.
