Live 5/5NL Turn Set Bad Board

Live LA casino 5/5NL 500Max Buyin

There has been a some preflop raises with marginal hands, and utg raises have been getting called multiple ways. I hoped I could get a raise pre and then isolate. It didnt happen, now what.

Hero is utg and limps with J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
5way to flop and it comes A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
checked around.
Turn is J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Sb bets 25, BB raises to 100.
BB has another 230 left.
Hero? If I just call fearing the str8. Then I need to fold to unpairing river push, right? If I am going to call a 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] river, then I should just push turn. suggestions...

How much does the SB have? How much does the BB have? How many players to act after you? Do you have any reads on how these players to this point? Why would you not push here?

that's wat you get for limping JJ lol now u got nfi wat they have. the important thing is the read on the big blind hes certainly not bluffing but would he raise aces up here? he might have 99/TT which would be a disaster if u fold but theres decent chance a blind hand has the straight too. i'd prob just call and fold to a push on river because open folding here when ur hand is so disguised seems too weak. pushing is ok i guess its only 100bb just hope u fill up lol if u get called.

Shove. Suck out if necessary.

The other people in the pot are in the blinds, why are you worried about the straight so much? They have all sorts of two pairs and combo draws in their ranges.

There are too many other hands they could have besides straights, so I think you have to shove. I could fold here with a superstrong read, but it looks like you don't have that.

effective stacks were 500.

I really botched this hand. The BB seemed very passive and not the type to rasie a combo draw on the turn. At the time I felt a straight was likely and just called hoping to fill up on river, re-evaluate based on his river action. He open pushed for 230ish (PSB approx). The key to the hand that I missed at the time is that I beleive he would have bet had he flopped an Ace, so all his strong 2pair hands arent likely. THis makes a str8 most likely given his passive nature. I ended up calling hoping for 2pair. Were I messed up was if I was going to pay off the river, I needed to push the turn. Thanks for the help.

In my opinion, if we shove here, two pair folds. I suppose a couple of combos of aces up might make a mistake and crying call, but those hands don't make sense given flop action. Also, I don't know if I agree with the logic that "if you call a blank river, you should shove turn", because two-pair fold to a turn shove, but value bet a blank river. I guess I'd like to see some math that backs up that assertation.
