Straight in unraised pot

Currency is SEK, 1 SEK = 6,50 so this is like $1.5/3.

Villian is pretty loose-passiv preflop, doesnt raise very often. He is generally tight/conservative straigthforward postflop and usually have a great hand or a great draw when betting large amounts and like to take free cards in position with draws. He respects my game and view me as somewhat tricky and aggressive but know that I usually have the goods when big money goes in.

Relevant stacks:
Hero: 4700
Villian (UTG): 1870
BB: 5083

10/20, 4-handed

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
Villian calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, BB checks

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (60, 3 players)
Hero bets 60, BB calls, Villian raises to 200, Hero calls, BB calls

Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (660, 3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, Villian bets 660, Hero pots it making it 2640..

Note that BB is yet to act and that it's 1100 more for Villian to call all-in.

Do you prefer something different?

I don't. I'd just fold the flop once you've been potraised.

Perfect, so many draws too chase and they might commit worse.

If he like to take freecards with draws, why don't you bet yourself?

I like it,
I might pot the turn as I dont want to give flush draws a free card but villian bet the flop so he is likley to continue.

obviously you can be behind in several ways but there is plenty of value too.

Like painting on an easel, this is standart.

Re: Straight in unraised pot

Standard? Really?

How about:
1) Fold preflop
2) Lead the turn

Especially #2. The way you did it, you're going to allow BB to make a +EV call with a set getting close to 3:1 knowing the action is closed. The other way, you trap him in the middle, make him commit some chips before finding out if it's going to get raised and then make him commit his whole stack in the side-pot if he wants to see the river.

As for Wazz's comment, I could see a fold on the flop if UTG wasn't short (relative to the table) and if UTG had actually made a pot-raise. This in-between raise kinda screams "I have the nut straight, but I don't want to raise too much since I don't have redraws and I'm only getting value from 46". I might be reading too much into things though.

I didn't comment on preflop, but yes preflop is bad. Check/raise on turn does not seem bad to me because if hero bets out on turn, he risks being bluffed out on many rivers when flush shows up or board pairs.
