Live PLO 5/5 - Top set on 248r board - shallowish stack

My stack is about 900, and everybody's got me covered. I'm the SB for 5 plus 5 to match the button straddle - w/8879 and six of us see a flop

248 rainbow (pot size is ~60)
Given the wrappy draws and my vulnerable 'nut high', should I lead out early, or go for a check raise here? If the check-raise becomes a free card, is there anything other than a board pair that I can feel good about?

If my stack size were 500 or 1600, would that change your thinking about the line you recommend?

thx

whether you should lead or cr depends how aggro they are. There are a lot of good cards for you on the turn, the best apart from a board pair are a T or a card that gives you a backdoor fd.

It was an aggro table. I don't recall a single flop being checked when more than 3 way.

If this is true, why were you afraid that an attempted checkraise on the flop might result in an unfortunate "free card."

The information you added also seems to make elrazor's original advice, which seemed good initially, more dubious.

agro table is check raise for me
with the struddle and 6 limpers that raise would be enough to insta push turn

well it's also important how often you will get raised if you just bet, there are lots of tables where anyone with an open ended straight will throw in a $60 bet, but will need a set to raise you. If it really is an aggro enough table that you can lead and expect to get raised a lot of the time, then leading is a lot better than cr because cr does not get all that much of your stack in.
