NL400 - Betting vs Checking turn

Villain is 60/25/2

Villain's been splashing around a lot so I 3b him from button vs co. When he donks the flop, I saw no reason to raise, and when he checked the turn, I was pretty sure he had a hand I was ahead of.

Do we bet here for value or do we check to induce a bluff? I thought there was a good enough chance that he bluffs the river or even calls light so i checked behind the turn.

What factors decide whether to bet turn or check to induce?

Either this or bet real small. Both have merits. Never fold obv.

theres no clearcut correct play for any of ur actions in this hand IMO (except for the call on the flop which I think is much better than raising). id be more inclined to check behind here than normal because of the flush draw which u dont wanna get raised off

Villains stats says he's a station so I think betting turn is ok. Against an aggro TAG I prefer checking.

yeah I like the check in this spot. He'll either have a weak pair that you probably aren't going to get two more streets of value from, or he'll be going for a c/r with a good hand. Checking back means you can get paid off super light on the river, and occasionally catch a bluff.

how can we get cr'd off this hand? p+fd + amt of money in pot?

I figure someone like him has a hand like 97 here, he probably folds to a bet no?

I check behind because he could be trapping. Checking behind also makes it easy to value bet a lot of rivers successfully. You are rarely getting value from both turn + river by a worse hand.
