2 hands vs baluga

im on my laptop so no stats (its a mac) and im only on one 2,4 table (and some FTOPS [censored]) bc im trying to fix my other comp, anyway...

onto the hands:
i lost the HHs so bare with me

no real reads but baluga is a good tag player from what i can tell...
eff stacks like 550 or 600
villain (baluga) posts BB, i limp utg and its checked pf 4 way

flop is 89A rainbow, villain makes a pot sized bet and i call everyone else folds

turn is a blank and it goes check/check

river is a 6 (no flush) he checks i make a small value bet with my naked A, Q kick for about 3/5 pot, villain then makes a very strong check raise (i think he potted it)

first of all, is the value bet too thin or do you like it and then just fold to his CR? also we had a good # of hands against each other this session and i feel like he may have seen my river bet for what it was and known that i couldnt call a CR

HAND 2: eff stacks around 700
villain (baluga) has the button and pots it, i 3bet to 50 and he calls

flop is 29T rainbow
i lead for 75 into like 110 and he calls

turn is a T and I check call 180

river is a blank and I check, villain shoves for like 400 into like 650 ez fold?

comments on all streets and hands would be appreciated as well as ranges for villain

Raise preflop in hand 1. As played I fold the river in both hands.

Call 2nd. He wouldn't fold ANY pair on the flop, and after your turn c/c your hand is turned face up. I think he's turning a hand into a bluff more times then he shows up with a T especially when you only need to be good 30% of the time.

Fold first pretty quickly.

Preflop in hand 1 is awful IMO. I think your image is very important here as well since I don't think he's gonna bluff you on the river here if he thinks you're a station in either hand. I think both decisions are close, but I think folding hand 1 is best, and I would certainly consider calling in hand 2.
