List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

This is a continuation of the original thread, still available here.

This thread is constantly changing, as not every eWallet has been tried with every site - some of this information comes from poker room's websites, which are not always accurate. Keep this in mind when planning deposits, and please post back here if you have any corrections or new information.

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

eWallet FAQ:

Q: Is there any way to load a Moneybookers account from a poker site?

A: The following sites have allowed at least one person to withdraw to MB without having deposited with that method: Eurobet, Gamebookers, Pokerheaven, UltimateBet. Also, PokerSavvy allows you to cash points for their offers to an MB account.

Q: When registering a CC with MB, should I check the option for using it for gaming purposes?

A: If you check the box, it's possible your CC will be declined, if it isn't alowed to be used for gaming sites. However, by not checking it could be worse...they then won't allow the money to be used for gaming. Will that just affect deposits from your CC, or all money in MB? No one seems to know for sure.

Q: What are the best/cheapest options for a Canadian to withdraw money from a bankroll?

A: An EFT or cheque from a poker site is likely best where possible. Otherwise, either the C2P ATM card or a MB cheque seem like the best ways to go, but we are still awaiting trip reports on both of these.

Has anyone cashed out via cheque from MB?

Will, nothing further on your C2P ATM card?

I used them to deposit money from UB and for casino sites as well. The bank authentication process was fast, and it's a breeze to deposit anywhere. I haven't withdrawn with them yet, as UB screwed up my withdrawal to InstaDebit, but their service has been really fast to respond to my questions so I don't doubt withdrawing would be done as fast.

And since they have no fees at all, it's even better.

That's great to hear...they seem pretty good in my limited experience thus far.

What I'm most interested in finding out is how they handle currency exchange. They told me that if I deposited money on to a site from my bank account, and then withdrew it all the way back in the same day, I wouldn't lose any money. Seeing as my first deposit was charged about 3 points higher than the current exchange rate (about 1.135 as opposed to 1.105), I find this hard to believe. Since I mostly use eWallets to bounce money back and forth between sites, this isn't a big deal...but I was hoping this could be a new solution for withdrawing money back to my bank account. I'm hoping they don't nail us for 2 or 3 points on the way out. If you ever withdraw back to your account, please let us know how it goes.

My only other concern with them are the limits. They're pretty small to start with, but they apparently will increase them in time. Have yours been increased at all yet?

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

Nope not yet, I did think 750.00 is quite low considering they have direct access to my bank account...I have only used them for 3-4 months tho, I guess they need more transactions to increase the limits.

Can't say about currency transactions, but i have found most ewallets/poker sites are not so bad in those regards.

I was able to initially fund my Moneybookers account with a withdrawal from Absolute (all previous transactions with Absolute had been via Neteller). I am a VIP Elite at Absolute, I don't know whether that matters but one email to support and the ability to withdraw to MB was added to my withdrawal options in the cashier. The initial withdrawal was completed in about 24 hrs.

Keep up the good work Bobo Fett, much appreciated.

A friend of mine has successfully used the C2P debit card to withdraw money but he tells me he can't confirm the fees they charge because there is simply no way to check transactions or even the card balance.

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

Click2pay accepts a visa debit cashout request and ... does something. Do they load the visa debit in USD or CAD? Who does the conversion and at what rate? Is there a second conversion? Does C2P ship EUR to their local visa processor and do they do the actual conversion, or is it a Canadian processor? What are their rates?

Click2pay claims to not charge a fee for USD->CAD conversions, but since they appear to perform their operations on a EUR base, there's no way that we can reasonably take their word for it because they do not run their operations on the basis of either of the currencies stated and they do not perform a physical conversion at the time of display. In fact, there's no evidence that they ever convert ANYTHING, while there is ample evidence to the contrary.

They operate in EUR but show the user a CAD balance, while the user's funds are actually USD. Are they ever going to convert more than the minimum in any direction? They've already shown their jewishness by sending out EUR checks for CAD requested transactions.

To be frank, they'd have to be crazy to not take the arbitrage opportunity that has fallen into their laps. Don't forget that they're a little bitty company and can't be trusted to not [censored] all over themselves. More to the point, they don't owe us anything, they aren't public, and there's no reason for them to do anything other than operate with vicious, naked self-interest. I wouldn't be surprised if C2P's holdings of CAD were exactly 0.

Besides, it's obvious that C2P's visa debit does not display a checking interface. That stuff costs money on their end to arrange. Without a checking interface, there's no balance inquiry. Go ahead and call them up if you want to know your balance. International rates apply.

WTF??? Well, let's just skip that for now.

Can't answer too many of your concerns, the only thing I can confirm is their claim of no currency exchange moving money on and off sites. So far, I have found that to be the case...no vig taken.

I'm also not excited about their cashout process...this ATM card not showing a balance is a little disconcerting, as is the fact that they issue cheques in Euros. They may only be useful for transferring money back and forth to and from sites, not for cashing out...I'm awaiting a few more ATM card trip reports before I decide.

You will have to wait to get your monthly cc statement in the mail to get that exact figure. That was the process used for the majority of people in the forum who used their CIBC and TD Visas.

Or, if you can access your CC statement online, it should be processed in 2-3 days. Much quicker than waiting around for your next statement.

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

So I just had a ridiculous encounter with Instadebit. I asked both their online chat cs rep and a telephone cs rep about the verification deposit that was supposed to have been made to my bank account. This is clearly outlined on their website here, under the VERIFYING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT
Header. Both agents had no idea what I was talking about, and just kept saying 'we don't make verification deposits' until I pointed them to their own webpage which contradicted them. At this point I got the 'contact security@instadebit.com' schpiel.

I only care about verification because it's supposed to result in increased transaction limits. I'm supposed to get an email from a rep (one who'se hopefully in the know) tomorrow, I'll post back with a TR.

Re: List of eWallets for Canadians (#2 of 2)

I reran the numbers and it turned out that the Click2Pay euro checks are short by an immaterial amount. My confusion resulted from the euro falling over 300 basis points over the weeks in question.

The tiny amount unaccounted for in my calculations amount to approx 50 basis points and is almost certainly a service charge to cover postage and expenses.

Best case the money was short 20 CAD on a 3700 CAD transation. Worst case, 45 short. My best guess (I'm sick of working through the rates) is 50 basis points. Virtually all of the 0.022 difference was accounted for by the falling euro.
