Have you seen him calling preflop raises from big stacks and dump it on the flop? That might give you a clue whether he is set mining or not. I'd probably call the turn and maybe call a reasonable bet on the river, though you'd probably be behind alot. I just can't see dumping KK on this board. Maybe he smooth called AA preflop, but he could just be putting you on overs and betting QQ-TT here. He knows that the 6 did not help you, as you would not raise with a 6 in your hand, so his turn bet in my mind is not as strong as if he bet into a paint card on the turn.

Raise the flop, bet the turn. The board pairing the 6 on the turn is a good card for you. As it played out, I would have raised the turn.

I think the villian probably has 88-JJ, possibly QQ. Don't discount AKh though. That's why I raise the flop and go from there.

Re: NL$100 KK vs a nit

Looks like AA or QQ to me. No way he has a set here. Question is, which would he be more likely to re-raise preflop? Some like to slowplay AA, so QQ (or JJ) would be more likely; some will always 3bet AA here. I really doubt he doesn't do this with QQ, so I think I you have to continue, as you have ~ 50% equity and some dead money to sweeten things.

If we raise the turn here, I doubt the villain gives us credit for a 6 and don't you think it opens us up to a reraise and a tough spot?

Re: NL$100 KK vs a nit

just call this down all the way. reraising the flop is pointless. he either has a set and we've inflated the pot, or he has something like 88-TT-QQ and will dump to the reraise. 7/3 is very tight.

I would raise the turn, or bet the river if checked to. (both for value, and definately ready to pitch if faced with a 3-bet)
