AC Hilton poker room moving, temporarily closed

I dropped by the Atlantic City Hilton yesterday and found the poker room closed. I was told they are in the process of swapping the poker room with the Asian games room, presumably because the poker room space is much bigger and the Asian games are much more popular/profitable.

In the meantime, Hilton has four poker tables set up in the middle of the casino floor. I played there for a couple hours, and it was very uncomfortable and noisy. It also appears they have canceled all tournaments for the time being. Supposedly, they will only be playing on the casino floor for 2-3 weeks, a which time they will again move to the ballroom until the construction for the switch is complete.

In any case, if anyone was planning on taking advantage of the great Hilton poker rate during the next few weeks, you might want to reconsider (although you can still get the rate).

I heard about this but I thought it was someone confusing the closing of the LV Hilton. That sucks for people wanting the rate.

It also had to do with using the window in the back to build a vent for the asian room to be smoking.

The logical progression of this is the white male room, where there would be wads of cash and hot female strippers, and gambling. Would Paris Hilton drop by to initiate this?

I went to the Hilton on the 12th. They have moved the poker tables into the ballroom that is adjacent to the old poker room. There was one 1/2 and one 2/4 table going at the time. Eventually they had two of each running. They are also running tournaments again. As always the 1/2 table was really soft but we had trouble keeping it going.

I kept asking all of the dealers and floor persons when the new room would be open and the consensus was by Thanksgiving. I also asked how many tables they expected to have but I kept getting blank expressions for answers. One dealer seemed to think they would have around 12.

I would like to say though if you haven't given the Hilton a chance the comp rates are great and if you play a few hours a month and sign up for their rewards card they may send you a post card with an offer for two free rooms (Sun-Fri) a month, you just have to pay tax.

Just to update, the new Hilton poker room opened today where the old Asian games room used to be. There are 14 tables.

No need for sunglasses. This room now officially has the worst lighting of all the poker rooms.
