Hello 2+2'ers:

I decided to make up a thread, instead of responding on other threads...
If any of you have any questions, comments, gossip, etc., please post them and I will respond on this thread.

Just a little background, I have been playing high limit LIVE poker for 2 years (100-200, 80-160, 40-80), I just recently started to play tournaments. I rarely play on the internet but if I do I play on Martin's Poker (50-100 limit, 30-60 limit, 5-10 nl)screen name MsGluck

lol, he became a "daddy" before I got to play poker with him. He only plays home games now from what I'm told.

Why, are you somekind of celebrity that knows all the players and can answer questions about them or something?

Ummm... yeah... what's the point of this thread? Are you supposed to be some pro...?

I'd rather see Vanessa Rousso start a thread like this... at least she knows tournament strategy.

Eeveryone - Jean was on TV recently in a tourney in Costa Rica and there were a bunch of threads involving her in the WPT forum.

Specifically, there was some criticism of another female player's etiquette in their televised costa Rica tournament and they don't appear to like each other a whole bunch.


To get caught up on some of this stuff you can go read those threads I guess. Although I really didn't find it THAT exciting.


My only Q's for Jean are: Why Martin's poker? I think that MAYBE I've heard of it but don't know much about it.
Is it a skin on a network I'm familiar with?
Are you just not interested in Stars, UB or Party for some reason?

Finally i might get new fresh response other than the usual "do you see why " crap that never works anymore

I have a situation that commonly happens at my local live 3/6 limit game. This is in Detroit, not sure if you have played here yet. 10 handed loose/ passive " lets all call to the river and see who catches " game . Five limpers to you and you have 99 one off the button. Raise ? and play it fast ? or limp and play for set value only ? Ok thanks .

Limp and play for set value only, if you raise you will get no one out. Small blind and big blind with call (pot odds) so you're looking at 8 or 9 players seeing the flop, you lose only one small bet if you don't hit and you make the maximum if you do hit.

thats what ive been doing with 33 through TT and sometimes jacks and seems to work , but Twoers flame me for it a lot. I think youre right though ! thanks

I play on Martin's poker because Martin de Knijff is a friend of mine. It's a skin of B2B I believe in Europe. Some of my friends are convincing me to play more online, I just opened an account on Full Tilt Poker.

I suggest limping with Jacks also in that situation, that is a trouble hand that can cost you alot. Some people find it hard to lay them down when the flop has over cards. You can play them aggressive after you see a safe flop.

You should use "Quote" rather than "Reply". It makes it easier to tell what the question was when you give an answer.

Ok one more and i leave you alone for tonight. Another very common scenario that comes up. Again loose/passive limit game 4-5 limpers and you limp in late position with Ax sooothed and hit nut flush draw non paired board. EP bets 2-3 callers .. you , raise to make big cash mani pot? Or just call and play poker on the turn ?

I actually prefer women 25+ for serious things, anything under like 22 I just kinda date.
