O8 Representative for the WSOP Main Event

Some of you may have noticed this post in MTT.

Our own representative for the O8 forum is Buzz. I was asked to nominate a strategy poster who has gone above and beyond the call of duty over a number of years. Buzz was my obvious pick.

Somehow Jurollo missed him in the original list, but he is definitely invited to a freeroll on Stars, which will take place Sunday, April 30th, for a main event package to the WSOP this year. The package not only includes the buy-in, but extras, as well.

Please give your support and congratulations to Buzz, who is under no obligation, but will hopefully represent us as the Omaha 8 achievement poster for 2+2.

Buzz is head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to analysis, odds calculations (implied and true) and being a gentleman in his posts. Great pick and good luck Buzz.

I don't think Buzz even has a PokerStars account since he says he doesn't play online. In any event, good luck!

I've heard he doesn't even have a computer or know how to turn one on (he's just really really REALLY good at math)

TG, good catch. Buzz, if you need to set up a Stars account, here's what you do:

Get a stack of 13 red chips. Also create 3 stacks of 7 blue chips. Now place a white chip on top of each of the stacks of blue chips. Arrange the stacks in the following pattern:

B B B

R

Now, take one chip off the top of the pile of red chips, and put it exactly in the middle of one of the other three stacks. Then take the remaining stack of red chips, and shuffle them half into the 2nd blue stack, and half into the 3rd blue stack. Now get four large metal mixing bowls. Place a mixing bowl over each of the three stacks, leaving the fourth bowl empty. Turn around, and have someone mix the four bowls, jumbling the locations of the bowls that are hiding the stacks.

OK, we're almost there, hang in buddy.

Now, turn around, and choose a bowl at random. Turn it over. If there isn't a stack concealed within, you have failed and will not be able to sign up at Stars and have a chance to win a WSOP seat. If there IS a stack concealed within, check to see if it contains a single white chip (no more, no fewer). If it does contain a white chip, then you win, and get to go to www.pokerstars.net, and click download. I go there all the time. To tweak my game.

Buzz rocks, hopefully he'll go deep in the freeroll, catch the MTT bug and leave o8 for the MTT forum!

Well, Buzz didn't win and neither did I. Not sure about Buzz's bust-out hand. Mine was early on. I was the second chip lead at my table. I raised with KK in EP (UTG?) and was raised by the chip lead for a significant amount. I went all-in. He used his time bank down to the last couple of seconds and finally called. I knew that he couldn't have aces after him blinking for so long. He had queens.

Queen on the river and that's all she wrote.

Maybe Buzz will chime in with his report...

[/ QUOTE ]Hi Felicia - I don't have much of a report.

I never got off the ground, dribbled a bit away here and there, and finally had about 500TC left when I decided to take a chance (tried to steal) with
K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]-Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Not a good choice because as fortune would have it, I ran into big slick and thus was dominated. And then, alas, there was an ace and a king on the board and I was out.

There were about forty players left when I got the axe. Seemed like a tight crowd of mostly fine opponents, at least relative to me. I could have held on longer, but it seemed a good time to make a move and try a steal. In retrospect, it was bad judgement, I guess. But I'd probably do the same thing again. Just one of those things.

Limit Omaha-8 is my game of choice, but playing Texas hold 'em is good fun too and I appreciate the opportunity to participate.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. Mute, those two posts of yours, especially the first one are absolutely laughing out loud hilarious.

And thanks again, Felicia, for selecting me.

Buzz
