Do i need a casino host?

Basically I want to know if there is anything i should do to make my trip more better in the ways of comps and future visis.

I plan on bringing a bankroll of about $1000-$1500. Should I get a casino host? or give them ym money to hold or whatever?

I'm going to be staying at the MGM Grand.

Last time i went i played a lot of blackjack average bet was $10. Some Roulette and good 10 hour total session of $1/2 NL.

I plan to up my average bet to $25 at blackjack and play more poker.

I'm arriving May 6 and leaving May 12th.

The Casino Marketing gave me every night for $69.99 not including saturday.

Anyways. Should i tell someone there that i plan on playing 40+ hours of gambling where and how much?

what will this benefit me? is my br and bets to low to ask for a casino host?

How do i ask for one. when do i ask etc.

Also what about getting the rooms comped if i play x amount of hours with x amount of dollars? is this possible?

Perhaps tryingtolearn will answer you since he is a host in Vegas - but basically they aren't going to care too much about your poker play, more about the table games - and of the table games blackjack is the 'worst' since the player has the highest edge, unless you're playing amazingly high bets for a long period of time.
Make sure you have a player's card and give it to the pit boss each time you play so they can rate your play, and then before you check out ask the VIP player's club if they can give you any comps. We were just at MGM and they seemed to prefer to do it that way, at least for the level of play we had done. They called a host and she comped all our nights as well as most of the food and beverage. They can't do anything until they have rated you, doesn't make any difference to tell them how much you "intend" to gamble. Also, you would want to be betting more than $10.00/hand, unless you are playing for a million hours straight each time.

tryingtolearn, do you agree?

The Poker play will not concern the poker host. Definetelly do not tell them your bankroll. I use to have one at the Alladin. They would comp one night for every 5 hours of $25 BJ I played. I would check in through the Casino Host and use my players card when I played. At the end of the trip they adjusted my bill. To be honest with your bankroll I would not waste my time unless you plan alot of BJ

Re: Do i need a casino host?

well im going to be there for 7 days and i'm guesing ill spend at a min of 12hours gambling so thats about a total trip hours of 84.

unless i go broke very early in the trip and can't get any of the reserves.

But id probably say out of the 84 so hours ill play that week. the ratio to poker/bj/roullete would be 40/40/4

So the best suggestion is don't tell them my br always use my players card and at th eend visit the players club vip place and ask to get things comped? or ask them what they can do for me?

I suppose its best to charge buffets etc to the room?

also me playing at the other mgm/mirage hotels will count as a combined total? or no?

and the fact that me and my gf are only 21 will that make any differnce?

a lot of the trip im going to be spending with my gf, she does play holdem and wants to play but i dont believe she is capable of 10 hour poker sessions like me. so while im not playing that i'll play some blackjack with her.

BAsically that is how the trip is going in my head.

Re: Do i need a casino host?

The MGM isn't going to care about your $10 bets. You can get a players card but don't expect a lot of comps. You're better off playing poker and comping yourself with your winnings.

No u guys don't understand. $10 bets is what i was doing my last trip. I plan to make $25 bets average and some $50-75 bets if im doing goods and the cards are right.

playing the amount of hours i plan to play and making $25 and some $50-75 bets when doing well at blackjack,

what can i hope to expect in comps

You're not related to this guy, are you?

If you're expecting to get treated like someone special just because you're making $25 blackjack bets, I suggest you play at the Western or the Gold Spike instead of the MGM.

Is "casino host" the new vernacular for "rubber band?"

The MGM isn't going to care much about $25 average bets either. You can expect some buffet comps, but don't expect a free room or anything. If you were to stay at a smaller casino, you would get much more value.

Re: Do i need a casino host?

i know i shouldnt expect much, i laughed at what that guy was expecting myself lol.

I was more wondering how many food comps i could get.

Or how about this question.

what would my average bet have to be to get my room comped at the end?

Re: Do i need a casino host?

if you explain to a potential casino host about the roulette "betting system" you posted in Other Gambling forum, then they might be willing to raise your net theo up slightly.

I recommend you give up on this thread entirely - let it die. Instead, you will find your answers in this recent thread.

Way higher than your proposed bankroll of "$1000-$1500" would allow.

Here's some advice - just go to have fun and don't worry about trying to get the high roller treatment. The people who are getting everything comped are the biggest losers in the casino.

Unless you're playing black chips($100), the room comp isn't going to happen. You're better off just playing your regular stakes, getting some food comps, and paying for your room than trying to get your room comped.
