Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
25.8vp 16.0pfr 4.86AF 22wts 9flop AF 225 Hands
Been sitting with this fella at the table for a while. 2 Hands earlier I'd 3-betted him already and I knew he wasnt too happy about this 3-bet so the chance he'd call preflop was bigger. Id fold flop or turn to more passive players in this scenario, not sure how to deal with him though. Anyways, the hand: Party Poker, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter SB: $224.86 BB: $103.62 UTG: $173.04 Hero (CO): $203.91 BTN: $96.53 Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO) UTG raises to $4, Hero raises to $14, 3 folds, UTG calls $10 Flop: ($29.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG checks, Hero bets $21, UTG raises to $52, Hero calls $31 Turn: ($133.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG bets $50, Hero calls $50 River: ($233.50) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) UTG bets $57.04 and is All-In, Hero calls $57.04 Results: $347.58 Pot ($2 Rake) |

if you're gonna go with it you might as well push the turn, the board being double paired is also great for your hand and we can't really get away from our hand on the turn, shove

I really don't understand the turn at all.

Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
the turn i just called cause i wanst sure what to do. i wasnt sure whether to call flop or fold. if he c/r the flop that way its very likely hes gonna fire the turn again. I just wonder if i can get away from that hand anywhere here against this type of player.
edit: his turn bet by the board pairning either means he has a FH and is making a cheap prize to suck me in or he has - the only hand i beat - KK and is insecure, so sorta block bet. And yea regarding my river play i might as well have gotten it in on teh turn. At that point, I did however not know what to do so I just called ^^ |
Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
Don't fold anywhere. Probabyl felt the flop.

Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
I read this and thought omg pls shove turn.
Then i read thread and that was the concensus. So, shove turn As played, call rivah. |

any1 folding flop ?

Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
You can't fold the flop on a 3-betted Pot and a very drawy board. Either 3-bet the flop or push the turn.
By the way your stack to pot ratio is around 5 on the flop so this is +++EV to play for your stack against this player |

You don't think AdJd or a naked flush draw is a significant part of his range here? He can ONLY have KK, JJ, or 99? Methinks not, esp. given his stats. If you're not going to 3bet all-in on the flop, get it in on a non-diamond turn, please. You're ahead here often enough to make it profitable. |
Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
ok alright very convincing, guess then the mistake wasnt going broke here but not shoving flop or turn. thanks

Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
yeah, i wouldn't fold. I'd probably just call the turn and push a turn bet.
3-betting flop is also fine. |
Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
You aren't "that" deep.
I 3-bet a little more preflop, because you are > 150 bb. I like the call on the flop, and pushing good turn cards. This is like the second best turn, so standard push imo. |
Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
meh, shove flop, just calling the c/r on the flop sends a signal imo

Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
I wouldn't 3 bet the flop just because JJ and 99 obviously aren't going anywhere, but by doing that you give 88/TT/QQ/KK the chance to get away (not that many people fold KK there). I think the turn is where you need to make your decision. Although his turn bet is absolutely TERRIFYING, I still think you have to stick it in on the turn. He could easily be "trapping" with QQ/KK, could possibly have a J and think he's good, or I suppose could be drawing. I'm guessing he had JJ here which sucks, but I'm not sure if folding is ok or not.

Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
If you think the chances of him having made a set on the flop are higher than the chances of him holding a hand like QQ/KK or AdKd/AdQ and getting broke with it you should fold.
If you think the opposite is the fact, try to get it in on the flop! Your situation is unlikely to become better on the turn, and the hands you beat should be willing to get it in on this flop as well. => Tricky spot where reads about the kind of hands he will call 3-beted pots with preflop would help a lot. |
Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
shove flop or shove turn.

Re: Go bust Deepstacked with Aces in 3-betted Pot?
