AA Paired Board against a Tag - Linecheck

Just double-checking this one - I think my line is ok but would like confirmation. Villian is a fairly bad Tagfish who is playing a little loose since he has a big stack. History - just a couple of hands ago he busted me with set-over-set on the flop so he may think I'm tilted. I almost insta 3-bet him preflop. Standard?

I don't like your line at all personally. But, as played you should either just fold or push his river bet. You need to dbl barrel these turns when they are blanks. If he c/r's you on the turn you are almost always felting AA here. No reason to practice pot control or played it like you did.

Bet 1/2 pot on turn and call shove. If he just calls then shove any river

Why do I need to bet the turn?

value. Also gives future double barrels street cred.

I don't think we should worry too much about game-balancing against this guy - and I thought it would be easier for him to call a river bet with a PP. Plus it might induce a bluff on the river. I'm not sure why all those who responded so far think it's clearly right to bet the turn.

You mentioned that he was playing loose and think you might be tilting, so that makes me want to be it more.

I don't think check turn and bet river is a clearly inferior line though.

Betting the turn and folding to a raise or pushing makes it much easier to play does it not?

There is no way I am folding no matter what I do in this hand.

Betting the turn and folding to a raise

With $68 effective, we are basically commited with any turn bet, no?

Yes we are. I shouldn't even mention folding but just to get the money in on this turn.

I dont get it. What is the point of the river raise? Do you think he is callin with worse than a J or whatever beats u? Turn play is debateable, but raising river is bad in my opinion. This isn't 10/20 nobody is calling u with worse.

Re: AA Paired Board against a Tag - Linecheck

I thought he would definitely call with QQ/KK and possibly an underpair to the jacks since he may have thought I was on tilt and was generally fairly poor - plus he had a big stack which if it had a psychological effect it made him more likely to call. Also, there is little chance I could have a J. I thought the value-raise was pretty standard actually but I'm open to debate on that. Maybe I'm VBing too thin a lot.

Did you see it's a reraised pot Don? I think the river raise is OK but I'd rather just bet/call the turn. He should never have Jx and almost always have a high pair he's willing to felt

I like you'r line.
It induces river bluffs and makes villian call your river bet w/ TT+. Betting the turn is way too strong I think. And I don't mind giving a freecard because we are WA/WB.
