Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

wow. i'd call the turn. and probably fold to a river push. i don't know if htere's any merit in a miniraise fold to a push. I don't think Villain could realy have the Kd + a pair, so i doubt he pushes a worse ahnd.

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

You can't really do anything but raise here and try to get it in. He could have AT, 55, TT, A5, maybe AQ, AxXd where X > 8.

agnoke10 11-27-2007 02:14 PM

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

isnt this most likely 55? if he had the flush would he check the turn? the underbet looks like 55 that is semi scared of the flush and wants to fill up? im not sure. i just dont think a flush leads this turn, maybe im wrong. i shove here

SlowRoll 11-27-2007 02:15 PM

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

When the Q hits, almost no other flushes in his range beats you, unless KJ. So raise to charge sets and AKd.

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

FOLD. HE MIGHT HAVE A HIGHER FRUSH.

SINCE THIS IS NEILSO VILLAIN MUST HAVE HAD A HIGHER FRUSH AND SHOWED WHEN NEILSO FOLDED MIRITE?

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

I'm shoving. Sometimes he has a higher flush, most of the time he has a set, two pair, pair and a f draw etc. Not expecting him to fold anything here.

with my image im raising this all day lol. But ur supertight and only doing it with a flush so i dont hate a call.

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

i think the main question in this hand is whether or not we have the best hand...am i right? can we all agree that we have to assume we are ahead here?

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

I find the turn bet sizing a bit suprising, but really, you have to raise the turn. Come on... He obviously like his hand, and his range is not just FDs that got there.

I also don't see why AKd isn't in his range. It wouldn't suprise me to see this guy CC AK pf.

Why are you doing this if you aren't getting it in when your draw hits? And I think shove is clear because he'll call with his sets/2 pairs anyway and there's a ton of rivers you hate.

Also, Nielsio you are a tard. Call and go broke on the river or go broke now.

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

i would go broke on the turn and hope he has the Kd...

for the purposes of a neilso thread, i would insta-fold turn

Perhaps it would aid in the discussion if you would tell us what it is about this spot that you find confusing?

I think mostly stacksizes. Shoving feels like a big overbet to me. But anywhere in between is effectively the same. Also, his betsize confuses me. I expect either a bigger bet or no bet. On the other hand, just calling seems meh as well because I'm giving a cheap card. And perhaps I should be calling the turn to fold to a riverpush on a blank card.

All-in-all a kinda weird spot imo. (at least, that was my thinking during the hand)

raise wtf is this serious?

neilso,

if you're honestly confused here, then what type of hands do you feel comfortable playing?

Why is a pot sized raise a big overbet?

edit: bleh, ok, it's just a little more than pot. Doesn't matter, shove or raise pot, whatever. This isn't rocket science!

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

well you have about $170 left, his bet brings the pot to 120, plus your call means a shove isn't even a pot sized raise.

His bet size is odd but if he's got a set he's got 10 outs and you should charge him for that b/c he's rarely folding.

Against Nielsio? Hell no. I still feel dirty about getting stacked with two pair BvB with him.

I would fold two pair and probably call with a set, depending on how confident I was in my read.

raise an amount he will call on the turn w/his 2 pair or whatever, and at the same time will feel committed to call the rest off on the river. $100 sounds nice to me.

I like this, I don't really like just calling the turn because I want to get the money in and a lot of cards will kill our hand or our action. I don't want to play for pot control here. He bet 1/2 pot so it looks more like he is afraid of the flush than him having a higher flush. Plus as someone said you shouldn't be drawing to your flush if you're not happy getting it in when you hit. Sure villain bet when the flush hit but I doubt he has a higher flush here.

Just raise and get the money in. It's button vs blind, nobody ever folds anything in this situation so raise please.

Actually I think calling with the intention of shoving on a blank river is pretty sick.

Thoughts?

In general I agree, but there are so many bad cards that can hit on the river, and this guy isn't that great, and it's Button vs blind, so I just wanna raise here and get the money in. A less connected board is where I'd prefer just calling the turn and shoving a blank river.

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

Shove. Who cares if he folds 2 pair? He might fold the T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Basically, you need to protect your hand vs. any [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],T,Q,A or 5, all of which are terrible for you or your action anyway.

Maybe you should be semi-bluffing a LOT more if this isn't an obvious push for you.

This may sound stupid, but when Im confused with a strong hand, I usually just push.

Re: FT200 Kinda confused with a flush

If the flop went c/c then he c/r the turn you should be more worried. As played I don't see why you think he doesn't have AT/55/TT type hands...do you expect him to c/r the flop then just check the turn with those hands? Raise now because he won't fold sets, maybe not even two pair.
