UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
Blinds are 20-40
CDBR has 2100 I have 2400 10 handed. UTG and UTG+1 fold CDBR opens to 110 UTG+2 MP and MP2 fold I 3bet to 360 from the Hijack Folds CDBR shoves for 2100 after 4-5 seconds of thought Reads: It is very early, not much has happened at our table. He would know me on ASPoker8, but does not know my UB screenname most likely. I have only raised one hand so far, and folded to a 3b from the BB. I have played generally tightish. |

I fold

Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
i'd call because he very rarely will show up with KK or AA
|
Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
I'd fold. This is KK+, maybe AK.
What's the over/under on the following responses: "How can you not have a plan here?" "If I 3bet here, it's because I'm calling a jam, otherwise I just call." |

I'd fold. This is KK+, maybe AK. [/ QUOTE ] It is more like definitely AK, QQ, somewhat discounted KK, discounted AA.. |

[/ QUOTE ] IDK, I just think we're too deep here for people to be playing kamikaze poker with QQ. The stack sizes are awkward, I don't think there's any significance to the size of the raise. |

[/ QUOTE ] yea but AK is soooo much more likely than KK and AA, especially AA. |

Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
I flat call pre, but I cannot come up w/ any reason other than "i'm not happy if I get 4-bet" which probably isn't a good enough reason.

Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
depending on the player this is a flat cal pre. Mostly depends on how well they play postflop and what types of hands they will call a 3bet with in this spot

Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
I don't think 3-bet folding here is bad at all. 3-bet calling on the other hand....

Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
djk and Shaun:
3x the 3bet would be 1080, which is over half of Villain's stack of 2100. Are you guys saying you'd fold if Villain made it like 1100 or 1200 to go, putting in 60% of his stack, but are calling because he put in 100% rather than 60% of his stack? |

Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
against competent opponents that seems like suicide. If villain is a decent player and has his early position raise 3bet by an unknown early in a big field tournament. It really wouldnt surprise me to see villain 4bet shove AA or KK knowing that most randoms 3betting range in mtts is ridiculously tight

Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
I fold this. Is he really pushing 50BB in this situation w/AQ? I don't think so

He doesn't have to be! 2100+ 360 +60=2520 in pot. have to call 2100-360=1740 2520/1740=1.44828 solve (100-x)/x=1.44828 for x get x=40.8451= % equity needed to breakeven cEVwise. the basically worst case scenario imo is KK+,AK,50%QQ which AKs has 41.213% equity against, AKo has 38% so like i said AKs is a must call. AKo is close in reality i think you have to discount at least AA. people just don't make huge shoves like that with AA that often. if you discount both AA and QQ by 50%, AKs has 43.86% and AKo has 40.93% |
Re: UB 200k - AK v CDBR 4bShove
def closer than i thought, I should have done the math (im assuming urs is correct) but i realy dont think you should discount AA at all, if anything I would discount QQ
