classic movies u\'d like to see remade

Examples: Rocky, Die Hard

I'd like to see Ghostbusters remade. Same cast, better special effects. discuss.

The good transformers movie.

The Graduate with a hot modern-day MILF and a lot of sex and nudity.

Man With the Golden Gun or Live and Let Die with the new Bond (music important to both).

Ghostbusters sequel is coming as a video game, original cast.

none of them

edit: I mean the same thing as the two posts below this one. The movies are fine the way they are, on my shelf; I'd much rather see original work than remakes.

All three of those are terrible choices. Rocky and Die Hard are still great movies. Hell, their main actors just made sequels within the past few years to those same movies. And do the special effects really bother you that much in Ghostbusters? Ghostbusters is an awesome movie because it's hilarious, not because of the special effects. You must have been one of those people who thought it was awesome when they re-released ET with radios instead of guns and took out the word "terrorist." Plus, you spelled "you'd" like a 14 year-old girl. God, your whole post puts me on tilt.

Actually, I changed my mind. I don't want any of the good movies I like remade. They would [censored] them up really badly.

Casablanca with Steve Martin as every character

I've seen no good suggestions yet. Don't you dare remake Die Hard!

...of course I can't think of anything worth remaking. When I see older movies I either like them and wouldn't want them changed or don't like them and wouldn't want people to waste time remaking them.

This thread makes me sad. Unless the original movie was especially bad or did some injustice to the book it was based upon movies should not be re-made. Just focus on having an original idea.

That's exactly my point. I guess I used the wrong wording, but what movies would make the best "sequals", such as rocky and die hard. I would like to see a ghostbusters sequal.

Why would you went to see good movies remade?

I don't mind all remakes, sometimes theres a good reason to revisit a certain concept or character or something, or do a new adaptation of a common source, like a novel or play, but that's not really a remake.

But I don't understand trying to re-do a movie that got it right.

I can't think of any really. The preservation of the technique and technology of the time is a huge part of the enjoyment for me in older films.

In remakes too people expect so much, much of it being quirky little personal wants that when it comes to be it's usually a huge letdown.

I find myself wasting tons of time wishing and thinking about how certain classic videogames could be remade though, I lost sleep the other night thinking about a modern version of Crono Trigger. I'm really cool.
